Hi I'm Ashley Garvin

I moved around to 17 different places in Utah, I am a total people person, I love singing, dancing, and laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated Massage Therapy School a few months ago. I've loved the human body since I could remember. I love people, and was led to attend massage school so it worked out I get to help people feel better. I've loved theater for as long as I can remember. I remember as a child me and my sister would cook 'Tony's" pizzas from walmart in our oven... and I would pretend I was a french chef and would promote the delcious pizza. I grew up the majority in northern Utah and loved it. My family was needing to move to the Provo area and the ONLY way I would move is if I could be involved in a theater group at the Scera my cousin was involved in. My mom agreed and when we moved I was involved with theater groups there for 3 years. Most of my life I was homeschooled. I went part time to take elective classes at two different high schools and really struggled with who I was. I decided to be done, so I took the GED and ACT and was admitted into the local university the next year. I used to be really shy around people, but Heavenly Father blessed me to come out of my shell. I know He has blessed me so that I can in turn bless others.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't think I have ever doubted my testimony of the Gospel. I grew up in a challenging, but also very blessed family home. My parents were divorced when I was 3 and I didn't have a father in the home for 16 years. But, I also have learned so much from both my parents and love them tremendously. Due to the challenging circumstances of having one parent in the home, my mom taught me and my brother and sister to rely on Heavenly Father for our help. I have. He and my Savior Jesus Christ are my best friends. At times when I've felt alone, sad, feel like I can never be loved, depressed, down trodden, and discouraged, they have been there every step of the way to buoy me up. I have never once been left comfortless. Do you know why that is? Becasue I've tried my best to continue faithful. Yes, there are challenges all around us and at times I have felt hopeless, but then are kindly reminded by the Spirit of God that all is not lost and if I continue faithful I will receive the choicest blessings God has to offer - eternal life with my family. There is nothing I would love more than to be with my family and friends - who I love and adore - forever. I still get discouraged at times, but I have been blessed to see Heavenly Fathers hand in my life more than ever before, and that carries me through. I know that Heavenly Father has given us friends, family, His restored church on the earth today, life, daily breath, repentance and forgiveness (second, and third, and fourth chances), joy, laughter, happiness, and ultimately our Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement, becasue He loves us. Heavenly will, and always has acted towards His children (us) with a perfect love. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love myself. I love my family. I love this gospel - it brings me so much joy and happiness. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was able to serve at the Utah Valley University Institute of Religion Latter-Day Saint Student Council for 6 months. The institute enrollment was 6,000. My co-chair and I were in charge of calling all the Return Missionaries in Utah Valley and invite them to enroll in religion classes. We did that every week - an average of 100 missionaries per time. We also took the youth in the church (still in High School) on tours of the institute building so when they graduated and went to a university, they would know what the institute was like. It helped me grow to love the people around me more. To see that everyone has their unique qualities and that everyone is special to our Heavenly Father.
