Hi I'm Andrea Swenson
I'm mother to four, wife to a busy doctor, photographer, and I dream in paint swatches and fabric samples. I am a Mormon.
I am a stay at home mother to four great children. I am married to a handsome doctor, who recently took a job with an orthopedic group in our dream place to live. We have been on this journey of medical school, residency, and fellowship together and we have been blessed to learn many wonderful lessons along the way. I am grateful I got to share this journey with him. We often get asked how were are so lucky to have two boys and two girls, and I know it is one of those great blessings from heaven. As a family, we have traveled and taken each step in our medical career together. We have lived all over, with an island in the middle of the ocean being our favorite. I have learned through all of this that home is where my family is. I am most happy when I am with them, and creating for them. I enjoy digital scrapbooking, blogging, photography, cooking, and making our house beautiful. I am thankful each day that I get to stay at home and provide memories for our family. Family is the best business to be in.
I grew up a member of the church in a less-active home. As I got older, my family made it's way back to the church. It was a wonderful process watching my parents grow in the gospel and make the necessary changes to becoming better members of the gospel. I knew that I wanted that for my own family. I made the decision then and there to marry someone who would play an active role in the LDS church. I wanted to parent together using the church standards and share that kind of love with a husband. The LDS faith provides such wonderful knowledge about family and our roles. I refer to the gospel so often in raising my children and nurturing my relationships. The church has been a sort of handbook for me in this crazy thing called parenting. All along the way, my husband and I have grown as parents and spouses as we lived the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon, because I want to be a better person, wife and mother.
I have enjoyed living outside of Utah over the past 8 years. It has given me an opportunity to really share what the church is about. I think it helps people realize that Mormons really are great people. I love telling people that I am Mormon after they have met me and gotten to know me. That is when I see that look of, "oh wow! I didn't know Mormon's could be so fun." As a Mormon, I have relied so much on our church family. With each move that our family has made, I know that there will be another church family waiting with open arms to greet us and welcome us "home." I enjoy serving in my community and ward. I know that it is through love for others that we reach people. The Savior was the greatest example of that. I am currently serving in the primary organization in our church. I enjoy teaching my younger brothers and sisters about the gospel. When I am with them, I also learn great things through the simple things.
