Hi I'm Deanna

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in what was called the mission field-Oregon. I have been a member all my life and grateful for it.

About Me

I grew up in an area where there were not many members of the church around. But the church as grown in that part of the United States now. I am married with five children. Our oldest died when he was ten. He became sick at 8 and we had the joy of being able to take care of him until he died 22 months later. It was a tough time but also a great learning time. We were able to experience the spirit of the Lord and see his help in our everyday activities those 22 months. My hobbies seem to take a back seat to life. If I had more time, I would sew more again, cook more again, and go for long long walks. The walks always seem to calm me. I can't say I love to read-since I have ADHD, but I do enjoy it, if I find time and patience to sit still. I work with my husband in his company. And we have been doing that for more than 23 years. I never thought I would be doing it that long. I thought I would be just helping him get started. We do have 17 grandchildren as of now. They are all the love of our lives. Just wish they could all live near us. It does make me feel a bit old to have so many sweet spirits as part of our family. But then again, we have to stay young at heart to keep up with them all.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a morman --First because my goodly parents raised me in the gospel. At times, I wonder how could I have been so lucky to have this great blessing in my life from birth. Then, I realize, the Lord gave me this great blessing. I needed it that way and am so thankful for it. Life is never easy for any of us. I too had challenges. When our son died just topped it all off. Through all my challenges I have learned there are only two ways that I could handle life. One-learn from it and grow. OR 2- Don't learn from it and don't grow. I always picture the trials in my life as-- Am going to let it push me down on the ladder or can I use it to learn, grow and go up. There have been times when the going up was very hard. But with the gospel in my life, there always seems to be a answer to help me work my way up. My testimony is mainly, Heavenly Father loves me and always will. Jesus is my elder brother and will carry me through the hard times if I will only let him. I want to be with them again and of course our son.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to remember everybody is truly my brother and sister. We are all one family with the same Heavenly Father. I work at our temple. I love to help with the ward activities. Now I am working with the family research program. It gives true light to the need of every member a missionary and working with completing temple work. I live my faith by trying to love all of my brothers and sisters. I think that is one way we can all improve ourself and help others at the same time.
