Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in Australia. I love the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and I love to sing and dance. I have been part of the school/church choir and I have recently started taking dance classes. I am interested in language and culture, so I am studying to become an ESL/EFL teacher. I love traveling and hope that I will go to places all over the world.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converted to the church, so I grew up in an LDS environment. I am continuously grateful for my parents who have made this decision. Although it is true and very common for children to take on the religion because of their parents, it is not quite true for me. My parents have encouraged me, but I, MYSELF, choose to continue to follow the gospel. It is not because of my parents, nor my friends, but because I have been blessed to recognize the gospel being true through the holy spirit. I have been blessed with faith and upon testing that faith by reading the scriptures and praying, I have felt God's warmth and love over and over again, in both my saddest and happiest times. I am able to see all the wonderful changes to make my life for the better. I follow His gospel because it brings me true happiness and I feel secure in knowing what God's plan for us is, what we need to do in order to be happy and to have his guidance in our life if we do what is right.

How I live my faith

I feel closest to God when I am praying and reading the scriptures, so I try to establish a habit of doing them everyday. By doing so, it has really helped me in my daily activities in various ways. Every Sunday, I go to church, and every third Sunday, I teach the gospel to the women of the church. I love going to church because I am able to learn and talk about the gospel to fellow members and share our insights and experiences with each other. Every month, I go with a friend to a member's house to share a message about the gospel with them and offer any help if needed. I do this to show my love for them and it is always an enjoyable visit as we are able to talk as close friends do and to make sure that they are happy and well because it makes me happy too.
