Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in beautiful California but have since migrated south to Atlanta, Georgia where I feel right at home. I am a lucky wife and a happy mom. I'm living the life I always dreamed of as a stay-at-home mother of four...although as the kids have grown I find myself staying at home less and less! I refer to our mini-van as my mobile office and that is where I spend most of my time these days, running the children to school, music lessons, scouts, sports, and the like. I wouldn't have it any other way. Being a mother is my greatest challenge and my greatest blessing. I have a loving husband I adore who supports me in every way. I am truly living a blessed life. I like to cook, and to eat! I enjoy traveling and taking in the beauty of the world. I get a lot of satisfaction from decorating my home and making it a lovely place for my family to live. I love music - playing the piano, and singing with a local community choir. When I have a quiet moment, my favorite indulgence is to curl up with a good book and I read 'To Kill A Mockingbird' once every year.

Why I am a Mormon

I am part of a large family, raised by wonderful parents who taught me about Jesus Christ from the time I was a child. I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was eight years old. My earliest memories of going to church are of singing songs in Sunday School like "I am a Child of God" and "Jesus Once Was a Little Child Like Me". Those songs taught me that Jesus is my friend and that I can have a relationship with Him and my Heavenly Father. As I grew, that relationship grew as well - along with my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ, my faith in Him, and my testimony that He is my Savior. I testify that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Jehovah of the Old Testament, the promised Messiah of the New Testament. He came to earth to show us the path to follow and to provide the only way to return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven again. Flawed as I am, it is only through His infinite Atonement that I can be saved, for it is His grace that allows me to repent and try again to be more like Him. Just like the song I sang as a little girl, I "try to be like Him, try, try, try."

How I live my faith

I have always had friends of many different faiths. I find that the one thing we have in common is the desire to live by the "golden rule"...treating others as we would like to be treated. I try to live my life so that others will know I am a Christian. I do this mostly in quiet, simple ways. I try to do the right thing...to be honest, hardworking, helpful, patient and kind, happy and joyful about life. I look for opportunities to help other people - sharing a batch of warm chocolate chip cookies, holding a restless baby for a tired mommy, listening to a friend who is hurting, or just sharing a smile with a stranger. I enjoy the opportunity to share my testimony of Jesus Christ with others, but I hope they will know that I know Him by the things I do and say and the way I treat others. When I attend church on Sunday I work with the children in our congregation. I get to teach them, sing songs and play games with them, and do my small part to nourish the seed of faith planted in their hearts. I believe it is a great responsibility and privilege to teach these precious children the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is also a lot of fun! I love to see their smiles and happy faces when they come to church. I laugh every week at some cute little thing they say. I also feel the Holy Ghost testify to me of truth as the gospel is taught in such a plain and simple way, that even a small child can understand.
