Hi I'm Cecilia.

I was born and raised and lived all my life in California. I enjoy gardening and being with family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happy to be married to my husband of 39 years and have two daughters close in age. I loved being a mother to them when they were young and even more so now that they have children of their own and live close to us. I have SEVEN grandsons that bring so much fun and craziness to my life. My happiest times are when all seven of them are together under one roof. It always feel like Christmas Eve! One of our grandsons was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, more commonly known as Brittle Bones. I help moderate a Yahoo Group of 900 parents from all over the world who also have a child with this condition. I love flowers, birds and nature. I used to like to cook, but not so much anymore. However dessert is still in my vocabulary.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in another faith, attending religious grade school and high school. In college I was introduced to the Mormon Church through the family of a young man I dated. Even after I married my husband and had children of my own that family remained dear friends. I was intrigued one day when the mother at a luncheon mentioned something about her church being "the true church". I found that hard to believe. Co-incidently, on TV around that same time, a program aired called "Mormons and Other Living Things". The show consisted of short skits about love, children and family life -- some humerous, some serious. At the end of the show anyone interested was invited to call and request a pamplet that had ideas on how to draw families closer to our Heavenly Father, our Savior and to each other. That little booklet led my husband and me to a long, serious and prayerful investigation. Over a year later we joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with two little pre-school daughters. That was 34 years ago and our lives have never been the same since. Being a member of the church allows me to understand how my Heavenly Father sees me and what He expects of me. It helps me to see others in a more loving way. I learned how to pray and listen for answers. I learned of my Savior's tremendous love for me and that by following in his path life is sweeter, even easier. I have found it the best way for me to be able one day to return to my heavenly home.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love being a member of His church and serving in different areas. Right now my husband and I help manage a nearby "Home Storage Center". We run a dry pack cannery where members of the community can store for themselves different commodities such as wheat, rice, sugar, oats and many other products.
