Hi I'm Jolie

I'm a lover of the ocean, good food, and good times, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I’m a born and raised southern Californian. I have just completed my first year of college at BYU-Idaho. I love interior design, shopping, and going to disneyland with my family! I have just been called to serve as a missionary in Manaus Brazil, and CAN HARDLY WAIT to get out and start serving the Brazilian people!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and have been taught and raised into this gospel. My parents have shown me the truth and have encouraged me to learn for myself and build my testimony. I’ve taken the time to read the book of Mormon and have prayed to know of its truthfulness. I have felt through prayer and the spirit that this church is undeniably true. I have felt the spirit confirm this to me on many occasions. Not every time in some big marvelous way. I feel the spirit confirm to me of the truthfulness in the hymns we sing, the talks we hear, and the lessons we are taught. I know that this is the restored gospel and I know that this is true. I know that Joseph Smith is in fact a true prophet of God and that he restored this church to the earth. I know that God today, still reveals things unto his prophets. I know that by the atonement and God's great plan of salvation that we are able to return and live with him, and our families, for eternity. I know that by living this gospel, no matter how hard sometimes it may be with the circumstances and values of our world today, that we will be blessed, whether it be in this life or the next. I’m very grateful to be a part of this church and am glad to know the truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by my actions. We, as youth and young adults of the church, are given guidelines to follow to help lift us up. We are guided in things such as, dating, choosing friends, our dress and appearance, our language, the music and TV we watch, sexual purity, service, honesty, repentance, family, Ect. While many look at that list as a bunch of restrictions that just hold us back, I see it as a list of things that give me more freedom. I have personally seen how following the council of our church leaders can truly make us feel happy and free. This church has standards that always remain the same, and as the worlds standards decline we as members of the church have something to hold on to and keep us up to be an example to those around us. In 1st Timothy 4:12 it commands us to "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" this scripture helps me to be an example in every aspect of my life and to help others. I hope the way I live is an example to others and I hope that that helps others see me as a follower of Christ, and a Mormon.
