Hi I'm Lori

I'm a Mormon. I am a mother of three beautiful children. I live in Upstate South Carolina. I am a piano teacher.

About Me

I have been a member for 12 years. I love the Church and what it has done for me and my family. I teach piano, plan activities for active senior adults with my job and have a full time job raising three children. I love to scrapbook, read, hike and cook.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because two missionaries mistakenly knocked on our door thinking we were a less active member. All it took was a few lessons, and a lot of praying. I read the passages the missionaries asked me to read and I asked. All I did was ask! I thank the Lord eveyday for answering my prayers and giving me the faith and knowledge I needed to grow stronger in the gospel. I am so grateful for this Gospel. I am grateful for this church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints felt right to me. I felt like I belonged, like so many of my questions were answered! The Gospel feels right and I know it is true. I love to ask Heavenly Father for opportunities to feel the Spirit. Those confirmations get stronger with every trial! I am grateful for my testimony. I have never been so sure about something in my life! I am grateful for our Prophet Thomas S Monson. I am so grateful for his counselors. I know they pray for us and they love us very much! I believe in the Atonement, and that through repentance and our Heavenly Father's guidance we can one day return to be with him. I am so grateful for the sweet family I have been placed with, and the opportunity to be together forever. My family and I have been sealed together for time and all eternity. What a beautiful and precious day it was to be with my children and husband as we made those commitments to the Lord. I am so grateful for all the blessings that have come into our lives since I have joined the church.

How I live my faith

I was just released from a youth calling, and I will say that so far that has been the best calling I have received. I was not fortunate enough to go through the youth programs in the church since I converted later in life. The programs that were created for the youth are definitely inspired by the Lord. So many times did I have opportunities to witness miracles through these youths. I love seeing their testimonies grow from obedience and faithfulness. The Duty to God and Personal Progress Program are wonderful programs that bring the youth closer to their Heavenly Father. I was able to earn my Young Women Medallion since I was a leader in the young women's program. I was so excited. I have served in many callings, and with each calling I grow a little more. I grow more patient, more faithful and more willing to serve others. I can't count how many times when I was serving someone that they seemed to help me more than I helped them.:) I read the Book of Mormon everyday. I grew up a different faith, and we never read the scriptures nor were we ever encouraged to do so. I know this book is true, I know this everytime I read it. I know that through Joseph Smith the Lord was able to bring this book to life! What a blessing we have to be able to soak up the wonderful words from our Heavenly Father in this book!
