Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in Alberta, Canada. I'm an ASL Interpreter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a first generation Canadian! I recently graduated with an American Sign Language Interpreting degree from Salt Lake Community College in Utah! I love the opportunities and culture that can be found in Utah, although Alberta will always be considered home. I began competitive Irish dancing at a young age, and continue to stay involved in the Irish dance world, although only recreationally. I also love musicals and travelling!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. I always enjoyed going to church each Sunday and attending youth activities. I had always relied on the testimonies of my parents and church leaders, but after graduating high school and moving aways from home, I realized that I wanted to live the teachings of the church for myself. After much prayer and conversation with God, the testimonies I had relied on growing up became my own. I know that this church it true, and that each of us can find this out for ourselves. I know that God knows each of us personally, and that he loves us and is always watching over us, even if we don't feel him there. I know that Christ atoned for our sins and pains, and that he truly understands every trial, hurt, and heartache that we have and will ever experience. I know that people are guided into our lives for specific reasons, and that they, along with Christ, can help us through our difficult times. I also know that God wants all of us to be happy, and that if we trust in him, we will be!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be a Christ-like example each and every day. By living this way, I am able to experience happiness in my life, and share it with those around me. I am fortunate enough to be involved in organizing weekly activities for the members of my local church organiztion. It's so great to see how our efforts in organizing these activities brings people together.
