Hi I'm Jim

I am a farmer In Idaho and I love working with cattle. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent my life in the field of agriculture. I grew up on the family farm. After high school I went to college majoring in Ag. After the first semester I went on a mission for our church. I very much enjoyed the mission work . It was a great experience and I learned to love the people. I also found that part of my family came from the same area. This lead to a great love in my later years learning about family history. After my mission I went back to school. During that time I met my sweetheart. We were married in December. We went back to school and finished my degree in Ag. Education. I was an Ag teacher for 9 years. I took over the family farm where my real love was. I loved the farm but my greatest love was cattle. I worked in that area most of my life. I have a wonderful wife and family. I love them very much. They have all done very well in their life. I also have a lot of wonderful grandchildren. I love the outdoors. I have sent most of my life there. In latter years my big hobby is family history. We do a lot of traveling and love to find family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. As a young man my testimony was based on my parent's testimony. As I got older I know I had to find out for myself. I learned from my teachers in Sunday School and Seminary, also from my parents and friends. As I got old enough to go on a mission I knew that I had to know more. There was a lot more reading and praying. I found that I still had a little doubt. One day in a zone conference we were singing "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and the Spirit let me know that it was true. I don't have enough space to list all the things that have made me a Mormon. One thing that in my latter life that has been very important is my family, not only my living family but also my ancestors. Each one has made me what I am.

How I live my faith

The Church has been a large part of my life. I have had a lot of involvement in a lot of different organizations. It was fun to be a part of the scouting program both as a scout and as a leader. I was never a scoutmaster but had a lot of callings connected to it. I also loved the sports program where I was also involved as a player and a coach. I loved working with the youth as a teacher in many different areas. Two years as a missionary had a lot to do with the building of my faith. I love to teach and baptize the people we worked with. Learning that my mother's grandmother came from where I was on my mission played a large part in my love for family history. It has been so important in my faith I had many leadership callings in my life and each of them made me a better person. They have helped so much to build my self-esteem and to build my testimony. I have had a lot of community responsibilities. I was on the school board and water board and chairman of the church farm. All of these thing have helped me be a better person. I am so blessed to have been a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saint.
