Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three wonderful children and a husband for almost 14 years. I love reading and am rarely found without a book in my hand. I am a Cub Scout leader of a Wolf den and feel strongly about the Scouting program.

Why I am a Mormon

Just because I was born to parents that had converted does not mean that I follow the teachings of the restored gospel without question. There comes a time in every person's life that they must decide if what they were taught in their youth is the path the will follow. Me moment came when in my 19th year and I was considering serving a mission. How was I going to share the message of another testament of Jesus Christ if I wasn't sure if it was true? In order to find out for myself, I read the Book of Mormon all the way through and took Moroni's promise to heart. I asked God, with a sincere heart, if what I had read was the truth. I received my answer to that prayer and knew that it was the word of God.

How I live my faith

I assist in overseeing the men in my area. We encourage them to be better husband and fathers through lessons and discussions. We also feel strongly about having this group of men reach out to others in service and to help in their communities.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Joseph
While missionary service is strongly encouraged, it is not required. Most young men and women feel a strong desire to share their love for others and the Savior by sharing the message of the restored gospel. This is usually from 19 to 21 years of age for the period of 18 months to 2 years. Missionary service is voluntary and they are not paid for their service. Show more Show less
