Hi I'm Whitney

I teach sixth grade, just got married in the Mesa, AZ temple and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I graduated this past April from Brigham Young University - Idaho in Elementary Education. I came down to Mesa to do my student teaching and somehow I stuck around, fell in love, and am now married and settled here! I teach sixth grade and love the students so much! I love watching football... never thought I'd say that. I enjoy playing catch with my brothers and camping, hiking, and swimming. I was on a swim team for five years. I wore a nose plug. Needless to say I wasn't very good, just enjoyed it! I love serving people and brightening peoples' days. Making people laugh is one of the greatest feelings for me. I love music and dancing and singing. I got married two and a half weeks ago and I still can't believe it. Heavenly Father sure has blessed me with more than I could have ever imagined.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. In my teenage years I was able to build my own testimony. The feelings that I felt as I heard and bore testimony of is one that I've desired to experience again and again. I love the feeling of unity everywhere I go because the gospel is so perfect. I know that in times of meditation and pondering that we grow closer to our Heavenly Father. As we build this relationship we become more like Him and know of a surety that His plan is real and that we are loved by Him. Love and charity are the greatest things on Earth. It is great to have an example and a guide as we strive to reach our full potential. Trials come and go but the gospel and Christ's love is a constant that keeps my life solid and always moving forward.

How I live my faith

Working in an elementary school provides many opportunities to serve the community in many ways with the youth of today. Visiting a couple women in the ward each month and sharing a message with them is also a way to serve those we love and wish to know better. In our wards we have callings to do. I was a Sunday school teacher most recently and was able to prepare and teach lessons to young single adults. Volunteering and sharing talents is something that all should strive to do to grow closer to our Savior.
