Hi I'm Clayton Jensen

I grew up in Montana, I am studying molecular biology in school, I am on a folk dance team and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just recently returned from serving a mission for the Church in Anaheim, California. While I was there I had the opportunity to share the gospel in the Spanish language with the wonderful Hispanic population there. I am a student at Brigham Young University studying molecular biology and I hope to be a pharmacist one day. I am the oldest of five children. I was a competitive swimmer in high school and I enjoyed that very much but since I have started college I have become very interested in dance and I am currently a member of the Folk Dance team here at BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Church my whole life and had I been asked this question about three years ago I would have told you that I was a Mormon because I had always been a Mormon. That was how deep my testimony and knowledge was at the time. My way of thinking has changed drastically since then. In the time between when I was in high school and now I served a mission for the Church and that has made all the difference in my life. Through the course of that two year period I came to understand the gospel for myself and I came to develop my own testimony. So, I am a Mormon because I have received an answer for myself from God, Our Heavenly Father, that this is His kingdom on the earth, that He truly has called living prophets to act as His mouthpieces on the earth today and that He still is leading and guiding us through revelation in these days as He did in the days of old.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect but I try to the best of my ability to emulate that Savior and HIs teachings in my life. I work as one of the part-time missionaries in my congregation and I am also a volunteer tutor to Hispanic children in the area. On top of that I am also a volunteer tutor at an alternative high school in the area. I do not do these things to toot my own horn but because they are simple ways that in which I try to be like the Savior and help others come unto Him as well. Even on a more personal level I am kind to others and try to help them to the best of my ability. I believe that it is often times through the very small things that we do every day that we are able to show others that we have the Light of Christ within us.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Clayton Jensen
I have been asked this question many times in my life and the answer is quite simple. Men similar to those who wrote the Bible (the prophets and apostles) wrote the Book of Mormon. Not only did God call prophets in the old world (Middle East, Israel, Egypt, etc...) but He also called prophets in the New World (the Americas). Just like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Moses, Peter and Matthew contributed to the Bible prophets like Nephi, Alma, and Mormon contributed to the Book of Mormon. These prophets were just as inspired of God as were the prophets of the Bible. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Clayton Jensen
In order to answer this question I will tell you two things about me. First, I am a Mormon. Second, I believe in and follow Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the center of our teachings and for me personally He is the center of everything that I am, everything that I have, and everything that I want to be in the future. Mormons are Christians in a very real sense for without Him we are nothing, and this church is nothing nor could it ever be something. Christ is Our Savior. Show more Show less
