Hi I'm Lindsay

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Tennessee, and I'm currently a sophomore at Brigham Young University in Utah. I love playing and watching all kinds of sports, especially soccer. I absolutely love hanging out with my family. They are they best! I really enjoy the beauty and power music can bring. I love being able to learn a variety of instruments, so I can sing and jam with friends and family. I really enjoy laughing, chocolate chip cookies, shopping, cheetah print anything, and the movie Pocahontas :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have such a strong testimony of the truthfulness of this church. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and my Savior. I know He sacrificed his life for every one of us, so that we can return back to Him and our Heavenly Father again. I know He loves us so much, that he would give his life. I know that I'm not perfect, but through repentance, I can be forgiven of my mistakes. Without Him, I would be lost. I know that with the Lord, nothing is impossible; He is always right there, waiting for us to ask for help; all we have to do is reach up and take his hand. I know that if you do that, as long as you're doing your part, there's no need to worry about anything. He wants to help carry your trials and troubles. I know that if we put full trust in the Lord, He will direct us in the way we need to go, and will lift our burdens. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book. I know that if I ever have a question or uncertainty, I can turn to the Book of Mormon and always find an answer. I know that if you earnestly seek for truth, the Book of Mormon can manifest that truth to you. One of the main reasons I'm a Mormon is because of how happy I am being a member of this church. I can't imagine my life without it. I know my purpose in life, and the path I need to follow. I know it will be hard at times, but I know that if I put my trust in the Lord, he will lead and guide me. I want so badly to be able to return to Him someday. I'm so grateful for this church for its guidance and direction. I know the prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, is leading this church under the direction of God. I know he will never lead us astray. I know this church is true with all my heart, and I want so badly for everyone to have this knowledge and understanding. It is the biggest blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

I feel like I live my faith through service and just being an example. I try to live each day in a way that the Lord would be pleased at. I choose to uphold high standards, because I know that I am a child of God. He's given me everything I have, and I could never repay Him for everything, but I think I can try by respecting and appreciating everything He's given me, and by just setting a good example. I also try to give back by serving others. I know that when we serve our fellowmen, we're serving God. I'm so grateful for every opportunity I have to help others, to lift them up in times of trouble, and to give of what I can to help them. For fall semester of 2012, I'm traveling to Thailand to volunteer at a school and teach English to children. I'm so excited for this amazing opportunity. I really feel like I gain more out of serving than those that I serve do. I know that serving makes me happier. By trying to be a good example and serving, I hope that I can touch some people's lives.
