Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Michigan most of my life. I love to hangout and talk with friends along with making new ones. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 17 years old and enjoying high school. I am part of the high school marching band, robotics team, and programming team. I love to hang out with friends, playing sports, talking, and even sleeping at times! I have been to many places with the marching band such as the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit and soon, the Outback Bowl in Tampa Florida. I have also been to Lawrence Tech many times for robotics and after school programming. I plan on going to college and majoring in Computer Science at either BYU-Provo or BYU-Idaho. I am a very friendly person and enjoy making new friends. Oh, and did I mention that I am Mormon?

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with a history of being active in the Latter-day Saints. As I grew up, I went through the routine with going to church and the church activities just like everyone else. I never really thought much about the meaning behind the religion. As I got older I began to wonder exactly why I was still here in this faith. I did not know for myself if this was the true gospel of Jesus Christ and I began to doubt that I was making the right choice. It was not until I was about to turn 17 when I finally knew that this was the truth. The youth in my stake had the opportunity to go to Navoo, Illinois for a few days. I was excited to go because the last time I had gone was when I was very young. As we were getting ready for this trip, our stake president told us to think of a question that we wanted to have answered while we were visiting and pray to Heavenly Father to have it answered. I though long and hard about a question that I wanted answered for myself...but I could think of nothing. I felt as if for some reason I knew everything was true and I did not need any clarification about my faith. The day before we were planing on leaving, I finally had the question. My question was "if the church was really true, if Joseph Smith really was a true prophet, and if the Book of Mormon was true doctrine". The answer came to me as we viewed the grave site of Joesph Smith, Hyrum Smith, and Emma Smith. I cried out with all of my heart my question that I wanted answered...and then it hit me. I began to feel my heart expanding, a warm feeling developing inside...I felt as if my body could not contain this feeling and was ready to burst right open. I began crying uncontrollably. I finally knew for myself and for the rest of my life, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I bear testimony that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and I know it to be true. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through all of my action in everyday situations. I have recently begun to go out with my local missionaries and invite my non-member friends to learn of the gospel. I live the standers of the church and tell others at school why I follow them. I have had many discussions with friends about the Mormon religion and in turn I have had positive responses.
