Hi I'm Joel

I love things that are delicious. I Love paint-balling, hanging out with friends, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent graduate/survivor of High school. I have quite a few interests including: paint-balling, shuffle dancing, armor crafting, and speaking Mandarin Chinese. As a young man my father encouraged me to actually learn the language I started. When I was 16 years old, I went to Taiwan for a short vacation. The plan was to then leave me with a wonderful family and have me use what Chinese I had learned and get used to the culture. The two following years included two more trips to China and staying with three more wonderful families. With both experiences my parents left for home, and there I was alone in China. I can never repay my Father and Mother for the foreknowledge they had to have me learn as much as I did. Now, a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I will be sharing the gospel with the people of Taiwan.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but I think there comes a time where I really became converted. It wasnt until after I gained my mission call did I really understand the complete purpose of being a Morman. This gospel is an everlasting gospel with truths that will never cease to be. I know where I came from, why I'm here, and Where I am going after I die. I have direction in my life, and there is no reason why anyone else shouldn't know their purpose.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am literally living my faith by going on a mission to Taiwan. I am teaching that which Christ would teach if He was in my place. I am a representative of Christ, and I know it. I can't see myself anywhere else than where I am now.

What is faith?

Joel
I know faith is. Faith is alive. Faith is not dead unless you do not keep it alive. Is not your heart pumping to keep you alive? It is moving, like faith. Faith is dead unless you do something. I know this for a fact for many reasons. The most recent experiences are as a missionary in Taiwan. I see the gospel of Jesus Christ change lives every day. I go out and express my faith by knowing that there are people that will accept the gospel. After this action, I see results. This gospel really is all about faith and receiving answers to our souls questions. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Joel
I look at being Mormon as living like Christ. We testify of Christ, we search Christ, and we of course act like Christ. Did Jesus not say, "Come follow me?" Living this gospel makes my senses so much more alive. I can see truth so much more clearer. The right and wrong are so easy to chose. I know what will bring me blessing and what will bring Gods condemnation. I live a life that will receive eternal happiness. So in a nut shell, I follow a God that gives me happiness now and for eternity if I follow His commandments. I know Gods plan, and He gives us what we need to do in order to receive this eternal happiness. Show more Show less
