Hi I'm Emmett

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a sweet lady that helps me to be a better person I am a dad with a large family, all of whom I love dearly  I have 22 grand children and 4 great-grand children I really enjoy fishing in the ocean and am fascinated by sea life I served in the Marine Corps for four years I worked for the US Postal Service for 36 years and now have worked for a financial service company for the past 12 years. I am 71 years old and have worked full time since about the 10th grade of high school I enjoy working and staying busy

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my parents took me to a Baptist Church about a block from our home. I'm glad they did as I grew up knowing the Savior and feeling of his love and had a desire to make right choices. Later in life, at about the age of 36, I began visiting different Churches to learn of their faiths to help make a choice with my family. A co-worker of mine invited me to attend with him the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I immediately felt this is where I should be and confirmed it through prayer and joined this Church. As a result, I have a greater desire and strength to follow the Savior and be obedient to his commandments. This has brought joy, happiness, and many blessings into my life.

How I live my faith

I have received numerous callings of service throughout my membership in the Church. The Church has no paid ministry including the cleaning our local meetinghouse, our Bishop, and to the highest leadership positions of our Prophet and Apostles. We are all servants of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have many ongoing and special service projects to help our members, non-members, and the community. All of our active worthy men, along with a companion, are also assigned to visit a set of families each month to deliver a spiritual message and help with any spiritual or temporal needs they may have. I am assigned four families and I faithfully visit them each month and we have grown to have a mutual love for each other. We have 13 Articles of Faith that express our beliefs. I would like to share a portion of my testimony which parallels the 1st Article of Faith. I believe in God. He is my Heavenly Father. I believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Redeemer and Savior of the world. I believe in the Holy Ghost and strive to live worthy for Him to be my constant companion and to guide me in making right choices. I share this testimony in the name of Jesus Christ - Amen
