Hi I'm Kirsten

I am a student. I play the cello. I love life. I'm a missionary in Hawaii. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student studying in Marriage and Family Studies. I have found that focusing on my family and family in general to be most fulfilling. Family is so important to me in my life, and I know that family is ultimately what we have for eternity. I love the temple and I know that it is a place where families are sealed and where we can be close to our Father in Heaven. I love being a member of the church and I so badly want to bring my brothers and sisters to Christ. I have seen the Lord's hand in my life and he has lead me to greater things than I ever thought possible for myself. I know God has a plan for each of us so we can be happy, it is only when we use our agency to align our will with his that we can feel that true happiness. Some things that have brought me closer to Christ are listening to uplifting music, avoiding media that is offensive to the Spirit, and serving those around me. Also, doing the little things like regular and meaningful prayer and scripture study, going to church seeking the spirits inspiration, and magnifying my callings. It is the gradual and small changes in my life that have made the greatest difference.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the church was restored to this earth through Joseph Smith in these later days. I know Christ died for each of His brothers and sisters individually. I know it is only through Him we can make it back to our Heavenly Father. I know God lives and loves us, and wants us to succeed at what we do. Every day I see multiple blessing the Lord gives me.(Tender Mercies) I know for myself that my attitude is all up to me, I choose for myself to be happy. I know that by following the spirit we are blessed with continually having him with us. When I make the right choice to serve or help another over myself, I recognize that I am progressing toward becoming more like Christ. Coming to college has helped me gain this testimony for myself, even though I was born in the gospel. I know now, that I have had a testimony my whole life, I found myself when I came to college. I found my purpose and how I can improve myself personally.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by going to the planned activities and helping plan them. When I get involved in the work of the Lord I feel a sense of purpose and I know I am helping those around me. I dedicate myself to a task because I know others are relying on me. I strive to visit teach every month and build friendships with my sisters. Keeping up on what is going on in their lives. Though I am just getting used to visiting teaching, I know how important it is. I feel it is important to do small acts of service for others each day. I love to make treats and take them to neighbors, especially those I visit teach. When I get a calling I seek to magnify it by participating and giving my all.
