Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and mom of three. I recently returned to full time work outside the home. I enjoy spending time with my family, making music and horses.

Why I am a Mormon

Knowing Heavenly Father has a plan for me gives me direction and focus when making decisions. Every day my choices as a parent, wife, friend and employee are guided by my belief in and love of our father, God. The teachings of the restored gospel of Christ help me understand my relationship with others as brothers and sisters of our common Heavenly Father. As I attend my meetings, study the scriptures, pray and, through the atonement of Christ, repent I am filled with greater love, compassion, patience and peace. By living the teachings of Christ's restored church I find strength to follow the teachings of Christ and growing confidence in the Lord's love and care for me and my family. I am grateful that Joseph Smith, like prophets of old, received direction from God. That through faith he was able to restore the priesthood of God to earth. Through that authority to act, the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored with all the ordinances and organization Christ himself put in place during his ministry. The blessing of direction from living prophets in our day helps me to find and follow the Lord's path in today's world.

How I live my faith

My faith influences every aspect of my life. I try to ask myself how Heavenly Father would want me to spend my time and then I make an effort to do those things. Like all parents I do not always find it easy to balance time commitments to family responsibilities, weekly activities, employment and community involvement. When I read God's word in the scriptures every day and pray I feel like I make better choices with my time. When I make sure to spend my best time taking care of the people in my life, including planning weekly activities and Sunday lessons for the teenage girls in our congregation, I feel love from Heavenly Father as I care for his and my children.
