Hi I'm Mark

I live in Georgia. I help teeth. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have 7 children. I jokingly say I have 7 boys except for 6 girls. I like numbers and number puzzles. I enjoy working with the youth and especially with an all girls "Venture Crew" of the Boy Scouts of America. I love seeing beautiful things in nature. I'm a family dentist and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe the principals and teachings that Christ give us lead to true happiness and peace. I'm a Mormon because this church offers me so much more about Christ and what he wants for me to be. I also know that God answers intent prayers to know important answers. As a young man, God gave me an exact chapter in The Book of Mormon to read as an answer to a prayer from my heart. I knew then that there is a God and that the Book of Mormon was also His word. Since then there have been other feelings and answers that have confirmed to me that for me this is the way to my lasting peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I get up every day and just do the best I can for everyone I can. I try to live up to what I know I should be as a husband, father, employer, health care giver, and teacher of a 6:30 am scripture class for high school age young men and women. It's a tiring schedule -- but for me it's my way of just not believing but also living a great life.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Being in the Southern States Bible Belt, I am often asked if I've "been saved". Often they include in their question if I believe in grace. They hear that the Mormons teach that we have to earn our way to heaven. This is not true. I believe that the grace of God saves me 100 percent. I've sinned. I fall short all the time of what God expects of me. To think that I could earn my way to heaven is silly to me. Christ was the only perfect person on this earth. Recently, I heard the question: "Has grace changed you?" For me, God's grace gives me the hope and inner desire to change and be more like what He wants me to be. Once I understood this my love for Christ has increased and I want to follow Him. Show more Show less
