Hi I'm Patti

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. My husband and I have 5 children between us from previous marriages. We enjoy watching our 11 grandchildren grow. I retired as an elementary school teacher 3 years ago, but have gone back to working part-time in an area elementary school. Working with kids is very rewarding. I love to read any kind of book, and love to go on historical vacations. I am just now learning how to garden and how to preserve my harvest. This past summer I made several different jams, dill pickles, and canned green beans. It is a great journey!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know it is true. I was searching for spiritual answers and the gospel of Jesus Christ is where I found them. Thirty years ago when I was beginning a new career, I went to bed and said a simple prayer asking for courage and peace. At the end of the next day while reflecting back on the daily happenings I realized my prayer had been answered. I knew I needed to do something to show God my gratitude, so I started looking for a church to attend. I attended a local church, became a Sunday school teacher there, everything seemed fine. My husband at the time wasn't going to church with me. During this same time I developed a friendship with a family who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They invited us all to attend church with them and my husband was very receptive, so we went. We all throughly enjoyed ourselves and decided we would continue to study and pray and learn. One year after I began attending church I was baptized. I knew I had found the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The joy and peace I feel I know comes from my Father in heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. I read my scriptures daily, and say my prayers each morning and evening. I believe this helps me to be patient with the students that I work with at school and to be pleasent with anyone I may come in contact with throughout my day. At church I am working with a group of young girls ages 8-11 two Wednesdays a month. They are such fun to be with and they keep me felling young. I also love to teach the women of the church one Sunday a month. I learn more about the gospel each time I prepare a lesson to share with them.
