Hi I'm Jason Smitheram

I'm a Mormon. I was raised in Idaho. Right now, I am serving a mission in the Louisiana, Baton Rouge mission.

About Me

I am serving a mission in the Louisiana Baton Rouge mission. I was born and raised in Idaho, and I haven't lived anywhere else. Before I came out, I read a lot of books. I also worked at Arctic Circle for about three to four years before I came out. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a fastfood resteraunt that is only in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. I also played in the band at my high school. I played the alto saxophone, and I liked every minute of it. I also did a little bit of acting during a few of the plays we had at our school. I have three brothers and one sister.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true and restored church. I have seen the difference in the families that are members, and those who aren't. I have seen the happiness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into the lives of everyone who lives it. I have continued to live His gospel as best I can, but I make mistakes just as evryone else has. But in spite of this, I know that Our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, still loves us and will forgive us . I know that the Atonement will heal any pains that we have. Any sorrows we have in this life can be healed through the Atonement.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving a mission for the church, but more importantly for Our Heavenly Father. Part of our church is to help others in any way we can, and that is what I try to do. I live my faith by studying the scriptures every day. If I can lighten someones load, I will try to do this.Sadly, I don't always do this, but I still try my best. There are still a lot of people with challenges in their lives, and will strive to always help them. I challenge the rest of you to do the same, and see the ways that God will bless your life. I also live my faith by doing just that, I live it. It involves following the standards that God has set for us. I live my faith by repenting of the mistakes I make and will continue to make until the day that I die. There is a scripture in the Book of Mormon, and part of it says "now is the time for men to prepare to meet God...". We have to repent of our sins if we wish to live with God again. I have come out on my mission to help others do that very same thing.
