Hi I'm DeVere

I love things that are loud and fast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Lake Powell is my favorite place on this entire planet. Growing up in small town Arizona, I had a lot of fun spending the summers at the lake, chasing lizards, and building forts in the desert. Unfortunately, you can't do that so much when you're older, but I have taken on some other interests, a lot from the influence of my parents. I love making anything so my creative range is a little wide, from working with metal, to graphic design, to floral arrangements (hey, it makes a good side job). I have a great love for flying and I hope to have my pilots license very soon. When I'm not in the air, I'll take a big diesel truck over a little sports car any day. Currently I am serving a mission for my church in the great state of Indiana. I have quickly learned a new meaning of cold coming from Arizona, but non the less it has been a wonderful experience.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into the church had a lot to do with me being a Mormon from the start, but as I have gotten older, I have endless other reasons. Overall, living in a world that seems to be falling apart around us, the peace that comes to me from living the gospel is almost unreal. Economies and Governments are doing their best but lets be honest, no one has ever had to deal with this much at once before. Instead of trying to rely on things of this world, I choose to rely on an all knowing, loving Heavenly Father. He really does know whats best, He knows me personally, and he wants to help me have the happiest life possible. I can listen to his prophets and have a very clear idea of where I stand with God. This isn't His first rodeo!

How I live my faith

Currently, I am living my faith basically full time as I am serving a 2 year mission. However, on a mission or not, I have had a lot of examples in my life of people choosing each day to be happy and make the best of whatever comes their way. This is how I try to live my faith. Even though it may be a little hard to see sometimes from the outside looking in, when I remember I am a part of something bigger than myself, working towards something better, I can't be anything but happy! Isn't fun the greatest thing to have?
