Hi I'm Sophie

I am a student at Brigham Young University, I'm from California, I love my family and friends, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University majoring in Recreation Management. I am from beautiful Southern California, and lived in Houston, Texas with my family for my senior year of high school. I love music, going on drives through the Utah mountains, spending time with friends, being involved with and volunteering in activities here at BYU, and phone calls with my mom.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m so fortunate to be brought up in this wonderful gospel by parents who are firm in the faith. I love the gospel and the spirit I feel because I live it. I have a testimony of this gospel. I know that my Savior lives and that He loves each and every one of us. I have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel and that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it guides me every day. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God, and he tells us the things the Savior would tell us if He was on the earth. I love my Heavenly Father and know that He loves each and every one of us no matter what. He will always answer our prayers and has a plan for all of His children.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and partake of the Sacrament each week. I love the opportunity I have to be cleansed from my sins because of the sacrifice of my Savior. A wonderful thing about being a member of this church is that we have the opportunity to receive callings. I decided at a young age that whatever the Lord called me to do, I would do. These callings and responsibilities that have come my way have stretched me and given me the opportunity to better serve and love God's children. Another opportunity we have as sisters in this church is to visit teach fellow sisters. We get assigned to visit with, serve, and leave a message with a woman each month. I try my best to visit teach every month because I am my sister's keeper. In this gospel, everyone is taken care of. The most important thing I do to live my faith is reading the Book of Mormon every day. Doing this daily, gives me clarity and peace. Reading daily makes right and wrong more obvious, helps me come to know my Savior, gives me greater perspective, and strengthens me to meet the challenges of each day.
