Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in a small town…then lived in Cambodia for a few years. Now I’m a mom, wife, and homemaker. Oh, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am from a small town in Utah. After high school I went off to college, graduating with a degree in Community Health. After college, I went on a mission for the church in Cambodia where I spoke Vietnamese. Upon returning home, I worked until meeting my eventual husband. We married after about a year of dating. We now have a beautiful little girl, with another on the way. I love being a mom and feel lucky that my husband works so I can be at home. I look forward to each day because my daughter will learn something new or do something that makes me laugh out loud. I love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons that I am a Mormon…but one of the biggest is that it simply makes me happy. I have a great life; I attribute all my blessings to living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have learned that gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church). As a Mormon, I recognize the purpose for this life and how to make the best of it. When I face challenges or hard times, it’s the teachings of Jesus Christ and His atonement that make things turn out right; I have someone I can turn to for peace, comfort and direction. Knowing the things I know, I have no reason to be unhappy.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon, I place my faith in Jesus Christ. To live my faith, I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ and live my life as He did. Jesus Christ’s life was all about serving His father and fellow men (us). Serving in Cambodia for 18 months was a wonderful experience that helped me realize the joy that comes from serving. Since returning home, I’ve tried to continue the habit of serving someone daily (family, friends, neighbors, and strangers). As I do this, my faith in Jesus Christ increases and I feel the love that Christ has for all His children.
