Hi I'm Sheri

I work as a nanny. I have 17 nieces and nephews that I look up to. I am so very thankful that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest by far of 5 children. I grew up mostly in Arizona I had a great childhood that was rocked when I was 11 and my parents divorced. About 1 year later both my parents were re-married to different people. When I was 14 I moved out of my mom's house because my step-dad was making horrible choices in his treatment of me. After living with my dad for a year I moved every year after that to a different sibling's house. I went to 4 different High School's in 3 different states. After High School I moved out on my own and went to college to be a Massage Therapist. Three years after I graduated I developed carpal tunnel syndrome and had to stop massaging. I am now a nanny and I love it! I enjoy making things with my hands, the outdoors, anything with animals, reading, and being around people especially my amazing family!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith but that is not why I am still a member of the Lord's church. I have a very strong testimony that this is exactly where God wants me to worship Him! The truth of that knowledge is reaffirmed every week as I continue to go to my local church building where I can feel the love the Lord has for me. I remember life was really hard for me to understand when I was young. After the abuse I suffered I was so angry and I had so much fear. When I would come to this church I was taught the meaning and the reason for this life. The Plan of Salvation gave me so much peace, knowing that this life had purpose and that with my Lord and Savior's help I could overcome anything. After many prayers and much scripture study and a lot of time I can finally say that all the anger and fear is gone! This church teaches love and healing, it is all about second chances and giving the benefit of the doubt. The commandments we are given are only given to us so that we can have joy! I have lived my life outside the commandments and I have lived inside the commandments. I know and feel happiness when I am doing the things that this gospel teaches me to do. When I am not following these commandments there is an emptiness and a lack of purpose in my life. I am a Mormon because it makes me whole, and it makes me happy. Most of all I KNOW it is what God, my Heavenly Father, wants me to do!

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a full time job that leaks into everything that I do. I try to always look for ways to help others and show them my love. I go to church every Sunday and I go to the Temple whenever I can. I enjoy reading my scriptures and I strive to do it every day! I pray multiple times during the day, whenever I think of something I want to ask for or share with my Heavenly Father. Or sometimes when I want to just simply thank Him for the beautiful world that surrounds me! I am always looking for ways to better myself to become more like Jesus Christ!
