Hi I'm Collin Larson

I play music and make jokes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Salt Lake City, UT. But you probably could have guessed that. I come from a large family. My dad served a mission for the LDS church in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the early 80's. My parents divorced when i was around 6 or 7. I have always looked up to my dad and always thought I would follow him and serve a mission. So here I am, serving a mission in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before I came out here on my mission i could be found playing music, engaging in conversation, enjoying the outdoors, watching movies and TV shows and/or lounging with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been richly blessed in my life to have been born in the gospel. I have seen lives before and after the gospel, and can say that the gospel does bring joy and happiness into lives and families. I am also happy to say that i can feel the blessings of the gospel in my life and especially while I'm on my mission. i am excited to find people that I know the Lord has prepared for me to teach and see them let the gospel into their lives. If they receive the gospel and when they recognize the blessings that come into their life from that act of faith, I will know myself that what I am doing is called and ordained of God.

How I live my faith

I heard a saying from a man from a french speaking area of Africa, "A man without faith is not a man". I agree. It takes a lot for a person to leave themselves up to the Lord. Not just saying one has faith will get the job done. One might think that, but if one doesn't follow their faith with action, nothing will happen. The Lord doesn't reward sayings, but doings. I try to keep these things in mind throughout my day so that when the Lord gives me an opportunity to strengthen my faith, or a shortcoming, i will take it without hesitation. Often times we are set on a path of ups and downs. But if you live with the Lord in your thoughts and rely on him, and set this path of ups and downs in a general upward trend, you will be blessed. I know this.

What is the priesthood?

Collin Larson
The priesthood is the authority to act in god's name. When the Lord called his 12 apostles, he gave them authority to heal the sick, perform saving ordinances such as baptism and run his church. Though the twelve weren't the first to have this authority. The authority was also given to Moses, Abraham, Enoch and the other prophets, leaders and teachers on the earth. The same priesthood authority that was given to these prophets to operate the Lord's church anciently was restored to the earth through His prophet, Joseph Smith and has endured persecution in an unbroken line of authority from Joseph Smith down to the current leader of the church, Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less
