Hi I'm Karen

I just graduated from high school, and studying to be a elementary teacher! and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Bogota, Colombia and my family and I moved to the United States when i was seven. I'm a college student studying to be a elementary teacher because i love kids and are such a joy! I love to laugh and have fun, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love doing service and helping others.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life, my parents always taught me whats right for me and my siblings. I have always known the gospel was important in my life, but I gained my own very testimony when i was a senior in high school. High school was all about just having fun and enjoying the time you were there, but i knew that all that fun wasn't eternal happiness. I wanted to know for myself if it was true, Seminary was a big impact in my life and so was my leaders at church, It felt like heavenly father was having them say the right and exact words I needed to hear at the time I prayed after and i just knew it was true i had a soft, warm feeling and happiness come and since then I know that this church is true even if we make mistakes we can always return turn to him. Even if I fell again I got up again and tried to be more like him. I know that if we put him before anything and love him with all my heart i will continue to have a strong testimony. I love being able to know that i can be more like him. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following his commandments, My mom and I have started to do service for others and is a happiness to see other people being happy and even ourselves. Spending time with my family has brought me closer, staying in holy places where i can always feel the spirit. I try to be more of an example to the my non member friends, I believe that we must be careful as we seek to become more godlike, that we do not become discouraged or lose hope, it is a lifetime pursuit.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Karen
We need a savior because he is there for us on everything, through hard times, happy times, sad times. He knows exactly how we feel. The atonement comes through that as well he has given the atonement so we can return to him and be forgiven of our sins. He knows we are not perfect and make mistakes but Jesus Christ suffered for our sins so we can repent and come to him. Show more Show less
