Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Wyoming, married my high school sweetheart, worked for the same company for forty-two years. Retired! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked hard all my life to support my family. I have been married for 56 years, have eight children, forty-one grand children, and twelve great grand children. I have served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints whenever called to do so. I like to play the piano and sing. Because I am now retired, I enjoy spending time with my wife, visiting family members and serving others. During my life I worked on a farm, road construction as a laborer, time keeper, equipment repair and operator, in an oil refinery as a yield clerk, and in the charcoal briquet business in office management, warehouse management, and sales management. My work took me to all states in the United States and Western Canada. I worked for a choice company for 42 years and enjoyed the friendship and opportunities to learn from some great people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have the opportunity to continue to learn where I came from, what I am supposed to be doing while I am here on the earth, and what happens to me after this life. I know that God lives. I know that Jesus Christ is His only begotten son and that he took upon himself the sins of those who repent and come unto Him. I know that Jesus Christ was resurrected on the third day and gave this gift to all mankind. I know that Joseph Smith is the chosen prophet of these latter days who restored the truths that were enjoyed in previous times. He translated the Book of Mormon from the ancient records of the Americas and which is another witness of Jesus Christ and His earthly ministry. I know that I have to earn my place in the eternities and that I am accountable for all of my actions on this earth. Agency lets me measure my actions against the commandments of God and make corrections in my life and Jesus Christs Atonement allows me to continually repent and strive to become better each and every day. I am grateful for living prophets who teach us correct principles to guide our daily lives.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working in the church and the opportunities it provides to serve others. I strive to follow the leaders in the church who give us direction for living in accordance with the commandments contained in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I read from the pages of scripture daily and pray often. I try to apply the lessons learned, to my personal life. I know that all of us are children of our Heavenly Father and I have to keep reminding myself of this. I know it is what we do that causes friction not who we are. I try to remember to forgive all who trespass against me in hopes that I may be forgiven for my inappropriate actions. I work in the Temple where we do work for those who have passed from this life without the opportunity to receive certain earthly blessings. I serve as a Patriarch in the church and have the privilege of giving blessings to those who desire to have them. I am a hometeacher to families assigned to me. I strive to follow the teachings of the living prophets. I know we are all brothers and sisters and that we have come to this earth for a purpose. We have an obligation to help each other in this life in preparation for the next.
