Hi I'm Stefan

I am from Winnemucca, Nevada. I love Ultimate Frisbee. I am Studying Chemical Engineering and hope to work in the energy field.

About Me

Well, I have a lot of different hobbies. I love music, and I have played and sang in a number of choirs and played trumpet in our school band. I grew up listening to different styles of music and now I am fine with listening to just about everything from Rock to Classical and Electronic to Country. Another hobby that I have is reading. I love all kinds of books and always have been a book-a-holic. I love especially science fiction and fantasy. I don't remember but my mother said that I taught myself how to read somehow. I love how a good book can take you to a new world. I worked for 3 years in a large chain of grocery stores and I also worked as a wildland firefighter. I really enjoyed the thrill of fighting fires and the knowledge that I was really helping people. I looking forward to the future and am optimistic that it holds good things in store for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, which means that my parents are both members of the church. I was raised by them and brought up to live a healthy lifestyle. Still, I was somewhat lost a lot in my high school years. I still made the choice to serve for 2 years as a missionary, as an official representative of the church. While studying the Russian language in preparation for service as a missionary, I realized that I was about to undertake a 2 year trip in a different country, surrounded by people who did not speak my language. I really needed to know if I was really following the right path. I had faith but I needed a stronger testimony. So, I started praying and reading the scriptures to know if the path that I was on was right. I one night prayed late into the night after the people living with me had long since fallen asleep. I had not felt like I had received an answer yet, and I waited and prayed. I finally laid down to sleep and then I just felt a feeling I had never felt before. It was as if an overwhelming blanket of peace had just settled on me and I felt the love of my Father in Heaven. I knew then that the path that I was on was right, that he loved me, and that he wanted me to share that with others. Continuing to follow God's commandments, I feel closer and closer to my Heavenly Father and retain a bright hope for the future.

How I live my faith

Well, I live my faith now by talking to people about it every day. I am serving as a missionary in Russia and I love it. Whether I am knocking doors, talking on the street, or singing on buses, I am happy to invite people to learn more about what I know- that God loves me. Here in Russia, I have had the opportunity to do numerous projects of service for members of this church and those who are not. I know that the success that I have in striving to bring every person that I meant a little it closer to God is seen every day, even if only by helping someone smile or talking with someone who needs someone to listen.e
