Hi I'm Scott

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I love to play soccer, preach the gospel, and see others change. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the beautiful Emerald City, Seattle Washington. During Junior High and High School, I played and refereed soccer for the local city league. I live and breathe soccer!!! Durning my last two years of high school, I attended a local community college and was able to obtain my associates in arts degree. I love learning and have expanded that love while serving as a missionary in the Bluegrass state of Kentucky. Serving as a missionary for Jesus Christ has been (to this point) the greatest decision of my life. I feel His love for me and the rest of His childern everyday as I talk to people on the streets and in their homes. I am a personal witness that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel means the world to me. Although I was born and raised in the church, each member comes to a point when they must decide for themselves what THEY truly believe. That point came to me durning my first two years of high school. I turned to a lot of different sources to find lasting peace and comfort, but ran down a lot of dead end streets. Eventually it got to the point when I knew that no friend, no counselor would be sufficent to give the relief I was searching for. I was reading in the Book of Mormon one night when I came across Alma 31:38. It speaks of how no pain, no trial in this life can compare to the Love that our Savior has for us. He gives us sufficent strength and ability to cope with every situation that comes to us in life. Though it may be unreasonable to expect instant results, the Lord is aware of us and is very much able to help us. I am a personal witness of the Love of the Savior and how real it is for each of us. This knowledge and testimony came to me through a study of the Book of Mormon. Through my personal study of the Book, I can testify with all certainty that the the Book of Mormon IS the word of God. It will bring you closer to Jesus Christ a than any other Book. I have come to know that there are Prophets and apostles on the earth today. Their inspired counsel has led me down a path of peace and happiness that I know could only come from a divine source. Their inspired words of counsel have helped me avoid many of the plagues that currently decay our society. In a very real way, they recieve communication from our Heavenly Father and help us to avoid the traps and snares of the adversary. These blessings and many more are the reason why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the state of Kentucky. For 2 years, I devoted all my time and attention to serving the Lord, leaving behind all other personal affairs. This sacrifice was not easy, but consitutes the best efforts of my life. Each day I woke up with the intentions and desire to bless the lives of others that day. I serve the Lord and my fellow brothers and sisters by sharing with them what I have come to know to be the truth. This knowledge brings such joy to me and motivates me to continue on in the search of those who will listen. I have seen miracles come into the lives of those I have taught. By teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have seen people overcome addictions and other obstacles as they search for the greater peace promised to the true followers of Christ. The Book of Mormon and other restored truths through the modern day prophets have played an instrumental role in my development as a person as well. The mountains I (and others) have climbed have brought me to heights I never before believed I could reach. These things would not have been possible without the love, teachings, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. My currant plan is to study in the field of nutrition science. The Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith has given me the strength and motivation to set this goal. Because of the hope and help I have recieved from Him in the past, I know that through Him, I can do all things Philip 4:13). He motivates me to push myself harder and make myself better than I possible thought I could be.
