Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, near the battlefields at Gettysburg. I love the outdoors. I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student studying business with a focus on marketing. I have one older brother, two younger brothers, and a younger sister. I spend a lot of time with my family, immediate and extended. I love to spend time in the mountains, hiking and rock climbing. I love to camp and spend time with my family. We go on several camping trips every year. I like running. I'm not very fast and can't go for cross-country distances, but I find joy in just running at my own pace. When the weather is bad and I'm bored, I like to play video games and watch movies. I also know how to juggle, do magic tricks, and make balloon animals.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church by wonderful people. I'm not just talking about my amazing family, but the great people in my ward. I had so many fantastic examples of how the gospel can bless lives, that I started to take it for granted. When I was around 10 years old, my older brother stopped going to church and started living in the world. He broke as many commandments as he could think of. As I got older, I was face with a choice. People started asking me if I was going to serve as a missionary. Luckily I had different example I could look at. My wayward brother, who lived how he wanted and not how Heavenly Father Commanded. Or my ward family, who lived such wonderful lives that I was able to see so many blessings in action. I needed to figure out what was true. I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. That would be how I could find out for myself. The feeling I had when I did that is undeniable. I know that the Lord has blessed us with His gospel on the earth today. And when I knew that was the truth, I knew I had to set an example for my brother and let others know what I know. Ever since then I have had many other times when my testimony in the Lord has been strengthened. My knowledge is continually growing and with it my testimony.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live the gospel in my everyday life. I spent a few years working with elementary school children and I would try to set an example for them in everything I did and said. I am currently serving on several committees at my school and I am constantly sharing things that I learned in church or through church service. I also spend as much time as possible with young single adults from church. Around here, the young single adult members of the church can be far spread, so I spend a lot of time driving sometimes for several hours to go to activities. The people I know at school and elsewhere, find it amazing that I am willing to travel so much. I simply tell them that I know the Lord's hand is in this church and that it strengthens me to be around others that believe that. I also spend lots of time helping people with anything they need. I am active in visiting people around my area to provide service and help them better understand the gospel.
