Hi I'm Anna

I grew up on a ranch. I love Biology. I love being a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in the midwest. My family is really close. I am the 2nd of eight kids. My parents are awesome! They raised us on a cattle ranch and taught us how to work hard and have fun. I spent a lot of time outside playing, working, and enjoying my family. After high school I went to college and graduated with a degree in Biology. I'll probably work in the medical field but right now I am serving as a missionary in Detroit, Michigan! I enjoy being outdoors, reading, learning, sports, riding horses, drawing, and laughing. I love people and I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 my uncle told my if I would read the Book of Mormon everyday I would get straight A's in school. I was about to enter my freshman year and I thought that sounded easy enough. So I read everyday until I finished it. At the end of the Book of Mormon there is a very special promise that anyone who reads the book can know if it is true. All they have to do is ask God with a sincere heart and real intent. When I read that I wanted to know for myself if this book was true. I found some time when I could be alone and I prayed about it. Nothing happened. No voice, no angel, no vision. Nothing. This might have been an answer for some people but it wasn't for me. I wanted an answer. I decided to read the book again. When I reached the end of the book for the second time I again found a place to ask my Father in Heaven if it was true. Again, nothing happened. I decided to read the book for the third time. While reading the book for the third time I came across a verse about charity and the pure love of Christ. It spoke to me. I knew it was true. If that verse was true and from God then the book was true. If the book was true then Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and this is the church of Jesus Christ. Since that day I have tried to follow Christ's example. I can see the blessings in my life and those around me as we strive to live the gosple.

How I live my faith

As a missionary I am studying all the time what we believe and how it changes people's lives. It is incredible to see the powerful change that occurs when a person gains a testimony of truth and acts on it. As they continue to learn more and to grow they become a new person. A person whose every thought, word and action is started with or closely followed by a qestion, "Is this what the Savior would do?". That is how we live our faith, by striving to really live it in all that we think and say and do. A huge part of living this faith is service. I have learned that as I am serving others and treating them how Christ would I am allowing Him to change me and to really see others as my brother's and sister's.
