Hi I'm Sharee

I am a college student studying to be an elementary teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

HI, my name is Sharee the first thing you should know about me is that I am very outgoing and love to laugh. It is always fun to laugh and just makes everyone else around you happy as well. I love sports! I have been playing some kind of sport as long as I could remember. The sports I enjoyed the most are volleyball and softball. The idea of being active and working as a team has always excited me, and so that is probably why I like them so much. Another thing that is good to know about me is that I love being outside. It is gorgeous, and every year me and my family try and go camping up north. There is just something about the feeling of freedom when you are outside. I am currently a college student studying to become an elementary school teacher. This has been a dream of mine since i was a little girl. I love working with children, and I hope that while i am teaching them that I can reach out and touch their life for the better. I hope to be a good role model for each student.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons I could say that I am a Mormon. I could say it is cause my whole family is one, but that just does not seem right to me. It started out that way when I was little but I was able to gain the testimony for myself that this church is true. When I was ten years old I was struggling with a sleeping problem, and no doctor could help me. Everything they did it never seem to work out. So my mother gave me advice that I will never forget and that was: Have you turned your problem over to the Lord. Do you read your scriptures everyday and ask for his help? At the age of 10 I was not a very strong reader so I did not read unless it was with my family. I took my mom's challenge and read every night before going to bed, and prayed. It did not happen over night, but within a couple of weeks I got over the sleeping problem, and I know it is because I was willing to ask the Lord for help. Since then my testimony has only grown more. I know without a doubt that this church is true, and that the Savior is their to help us through anything big or small. This gospel gives me the faith, hope, and strength I need to get through the everyday trials I face. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living the faith is not always an easy thing to do for people especially with the world around you. The world is hard place to live in when your standards are tested everyday. For me, I find it easier to live the faith if I focus on the small things that will help me gain the blessing I want in the long run. I find that having a smile goes a long way when lifting people's day. You never know what other people are going through, and your smile can lift them. Within my ward i have two callings. One being a visiting teacher to sisters in my ward, and the other being a compassionate service leader within the relief society. Within these callings it is important to me that I try and do my best in fulfilling them. It is important to let these sisters know that I care for them and that I am here for them. How I do this is through phone calls and simply saying hello with a smile and ask how they are doing. For me, living the faith is easy. I just keep standards, and not let anyone convince me to change them. I try to have a positive outlook on life, and that really does make a difference. Being positive helps me realize how good I have life, and that I should give back to the people around me. Service to others is key in living the faith.
