Hi I'm Erin

I'm a missionary. I love music, math and dandelions. I love my life, my family, and my friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young adult who loves dandelions, math, music, family, and life. I love to be outside and I love to laugh. I'm taking a break from college to serve a mission because of how this gospel has shaped my life. I want to share the joy I've found with everyone that I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be with my family forever. In the Lord's temples, I can be sealed to my family for eternity. I have never been happier than when I am living the teachings of this church. I want to keep that joy forever. I grew up as a member of this church, but I didn't just believe because I was told to. I decided that I wanted to know for myself, and so I obeyed the commandments to see if they brought me joy. They did. I prayed to see if Heavenly Father loved me. He did. I asked Him to tell me if this church was true. He did.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reaching out. As a 19-year-old I learned to feel God's love for His children as I was a leader of 150 young adult women in the church. I love knowing that each person is a child of God and He loves them, and it makes me happy to help them know Him. I also pray every day. It's amazing to speak to God, my Father in Heaven, and to know He hears me. Now at 22, I'm serving a mission in São Paulo, Brazil. One of the best ways to live my faith is to share it! I want to share this gospel with everyone because it has shaped my life and brought me joy that lasts through hard times. I want others to have the same joy I've found!

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Erin
Baptism is a necessary ordinance to be saved. The scriptures testify of this. Many people have died without the opportunity for baptism by the proper authority. But because our God is both just and merciful, He has allowed a way for all of His children to be baptized. Members of the church can perform proxy baptisms for their ancestors who have passed away without baptism. In the next life, these ancestors may choose whether to accept or decline the baptism. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Erin
Don´t take our word for it! The One you can trust to answer you is God. We invite everyone to read the Book of Mormon to learn what we believe, to ponder about its message, and then to pray and ask God in the name of Jesus Christ if these things are true. Our loving Heavenly Father wants everyone to know what is true and what is right, and He always answers sincere prayers. The answers come as ideas and feelings in your heart and mind, such as peace, comfort, and a sense that these things are good. Show more Show less
