Hi I'm Gilles

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter Day in 1978 and I'm 69, married with one son. I was born and raised in Québec City and obtained a master degree in management from Laval University. I perfected my english in Ottawa working as an analyst with the Bank of Canada and occupied several management jobs with several financial institutions in Montreal and Québec City and also as assistant deputy minister of Finance with the Quebec provincial Governement. I was part of the jet set for afew years travelling the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East negociating financial aggreements with banks. During the last partof my working life I managed pension funds and endowment funds analising the world political and economic environment and enjoyed it although the last years where stressfull with all the girations. I'm a sportsman at hearth, enjoying badmington, squash, huntingand fishing. I love gardening and geanological research. .

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was at first quite impressed( my wife also) at the love and respect two young missionaries showed us. We could not refuse to listened to their message and at the challenge to read The Book of Mormon especially at first about the visit of Jesus-Christ in America with people who originated from Jerusalem. We decided to take the challenge of the last writer of the book named Moroni who wrote:'' I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how mercifull the Lord hath been unto the children of men,...And when ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearths. And when ye shall receive, I would exhort you that ye would ask of God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere hearth, with real intend, having faith in Christ, and he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost; and by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye mayknow the truth of all things.'' Their can't be no other way to know spiritual thruth. So I testify in the name of Jesus-Christ.

How I live my faith

As a member I have been called to serve in different capacity. I have been called to serve twice as the branch president, presiding over a community of over a 100 persons and also once over the whole Quebec district overseing several branches. I have particularly enjoyed home teaching and teaching the youth at times. I am now serving in my branch overseing Sunday school, but what I enjoy most is teaching the gospel and preparing lessons for the meetings. I feel a lot of love from doing this wonderfull work.
