Hi I'm Richard

I'm a full time college student. I'm kind of a geek. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time student, and work full time. I'm working hard to achieve my dreams. Along with working and going to school, I've just started my own business as well. I keep myself pretty busy. I love anything to do with technology and learning more about it. I hope to be able to continue to progress in life towards being a successful husband and father.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church. My parents made me go to church, and when I got into my teenage years, I hated that. I began to rebel, but when I get a few years older, I decided to find out for myself if what my parents had been teaching me my whole life was true or not. I pray to Heavenly Father and asked Him if this was His church, and I received my answer that it is. I served a mission and my testimony continued to grow from the many experiences there. I am a Mormon because I have experienced personal revelation from Heavenly Father assuring me that this is where I belong.

How I live my faith

I attend a congregation where there are only single young adults. This is great because I can relate to my peers here, and we have similar experiences, and we can help each other through the tough experiences we are all having. I am in charge of locking up my church building once a week to make sure that no one gets in and steals anything. I love being able to serve and assure that we have somewhere that is clean to worship.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

My parents got married over 25 years ago, but there has been a lot of change since then. My mother is very sick, and because of the illnesses that she has, she is a very different person now compared to when my parents got married. I love my mother, but she can be, difficult, to work with a lot of the time. My father has continued to love her through all these difficult years, and knows that he will have my mother back the way she was when they got married in the eternities. He is the greatest example to me on someone with an eternal perspective. Most men in the world today would have bailed on my mom by now, but my dad has stuck to it because he loves my mom. I know that my family will be together forever after this life, and that my mom will not be sick anymore. I look forward to the day when my mom doesn't suffer anymore for the illnesses she has today. What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I live a pretty routine life. Every day goes a little like this. I get up and go to work, then go to school, then back to work, and then back home. While I'm at school I take an hour to go to Institute and have some gospel instruction. By the time I get back home at the end of the day, it's been at least 10-12 hours. When I get home, I do some homework, then hang out with my friends for a bit. When the day is almost over, I read my scriptures, pray, and then go to bed. My day is not really any different from anyone else in this world. I work hard, play a little, and worship daily. Working so hard to progress in my life, while also having time to worship, is what brings joy to my life. I'm a happy person working through this life like anyone else. Show more Show less
