Hi I'm Karri

I live in Pennsylvania. I love music, games, and healthy cookies, and I’m raising four boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My kitchen is an awesome shade of orange! I love spending time with my husband and kids, experimenting in the kitchen, listening to good music, playing my piano and cello, talking about budgeting and nutrition, drinking green smoothies, playing card and board games, and going on bike rides. I am a licensed ham radio operator, a member of Mensa, a former Toastmaster, and a unicycle rider. I have a master’s degree in education, and I currently teach piano lessons.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe he is the son of God, and that both know and love me. I believe that just as I love my children and desire their happiness, God also knows and loves all his children and desires their happiness as well. I believe that because of this, God has a plan for me – for all of us – to learn and grow here on earth, and return to him someday. I believe that an essential part of God’s plan for us is to follow his son, Jesus Christ, who was sent to atone for our sins and show us the way back to God. Knowing this brings me so much peace, comfort, guidance, and direction in life! Throughout my life I have had so many prayers answered –many times in a very personal way – that I know God is up there, listening to me, guiding me, and providing me with growth, help, and hope. I know he has called prophets in the past to lead and guide his children, and he does so today as well. I also believe the Bible, which contains God’s word as revealed to his prophets in the East, and the Book of Mormon, which contains God’s word as revealed to his prophets in the West. Both books are sacred scripture and evidence of God’s love, care, and concern for his children of all nations.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly on Sundays with my family, and spend time daily reading and studying the scriptures. I pray often for guidance and help in temporal and spiritual matters affecting myself and my family. (And the answers and help do come!) As an active member of my church, I have had many opportunities to perform music and accompany other musicians, help plan activities for my local congregation, and teach classes in Sunday school for various ages and groups. I currently serve as the accompanist for my church choir and also teach young children in Sunday School. My family and I also read and pray together daily, and we spend our Monday evenings together as a family to learn, play, and have a good time.
