Hi I'm Ethan Lee

I'm a volunteer wrestling coach. I sing when I am feeling happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up moving around a lot, my father works for the government. I have 2 older brothers, 4 older sisters along with my younger brother. We learned to appreciate each other as a family, and as friends. Moving around so much, I didn't have a lot of friends, so I was involved in many activities. I sang in the school choirs and was eventually selected as an all-state vocalist in 2009, as well as being invited to the Iowa State Honor choir. I performed in show choir, and our select men's ensemble. I started wrestling in 8th grade, because my older brother did it, and I wanted to be a 'tough guy.' I fell in love with the sport on day 1. Something about the struggle to make yourself better gets me going. I wrestled through junior year, when my parents didn't let me go out, because my grades were slipping. Senior year I came back with a vengeance. After senior year we moved from Iowa City, Iowa, the wrestling capital of the U.S.A., to Auburn, Alabama. Home of the Auburn Tigers wrestling team, where wrestling for years had been a joke. The year before I got there, they decided they wanted to really compete and got a former NCAA Division 1 wrestler to coach. My brother, who also wrestles, invited me to come work out with him. After working with him, i started working with some other kids, The head coach noticed me and asked me if I was interested in volunteer coaching. Best Day Ever.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a sometimes weak testimony. I try hard to live the gospel, but I am not perfect. I know though that the Savior loves me, and as long as I Try, and really work to improve myself as hard as I work on the mat, he makes up the difference. He makes ALL the difference. For every sin ever. He atoned for us all. I am trying to serve a mission, so that I can spread his gospel, spread the good news of hope and love. I hope to come knock on YOUR door.

How I live my faith

Sports aren't always religion friendly, but I make an effort to lead by example how it should be. I gave up alot of my favorite music when I truly became converted to the gospel. Every day is a struggle, but I work every day to read my scriptures, pray, and show everyone that I love them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Ethan Lee
No, No one is REQUIRED to serve a mission. Is it strongly recommended? Yes. The Savior named the 2 Great Commandments, Love the Lord, and Love the neighbor as thyself. If you truly believe that The Lord has a Plan and he wants everyone to know, you think of it as a privilege to be the tool in his hand. You can literally change people's lives for the better.
