Hi I'm Heather

I'm a teacher, a learner, a writer, an adventurer and a lover. I am passionate about life, people matter to me and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I believe that the world is in my hands through God. With His guidance, I can do anything good I set my mind to; like traveling the world, being a teacher or becoming a mom. I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. Teaching and writing are my passions, along with running, biking and, of course, living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am working towards being an elementary teacher with an emphasis on ESL education and want to create a school with the needs of every learning type for a positive, exciting atmosphere. I love serving others and sharing my love with them. As of June 2014, I am out in Italy serving as a designated missionary for Lord to teach others His Gospel, share with them His love and show them true joy by coming unto Christ and relying on the Atonement- the sacrifice He made for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons), and I was faithfully baptized at eight years old. There is a point in life when we need to be independent and make sure that we really do believe what we know. God helps out with that. At one point in my life, a best friend had just died and I was about to move to my fourth high school, among other trials in my life. I never doubted the truth, I simply had become wondered about what was most important to me in this life and realized just how important it is to believe, to understand, to know and live His gospel (see James 1:5 in the Bible). Our Father in Heaven wraps us in love in every little thing that we do, but we have to recognize his presence. I am a Mormon because Heavenly Father is my father. He loves me, he guides me and I am never lonely when I follow his path. He continually gives me a reason to smile and be happy =] and I owe everything I have and can do to Him.

How I live my faith

I happily attend church every Sunday for a three hour block. The first hour is always my favorite because it is my chance to renew covenants with God and be close with Him. The second hour is my second favorite because we study the scriptures. In the third hour, we learn and are taught about gospel principles from Christ that we can directly apply to our life. Prayer is my answer for everything. It doesn't necessarily make things easier or make problems go away, but prayer makes everything better. I know for a fact that I have a loving Father up in Heaven and when I kneel down to pray, he hears! And he always speaks back to me in his due time. Through the spirit, Heavenly Father can provide us with the comfort of a blanket like when it's cold outside. And let me assure, sometimes our life gets cold and we need that blanket. Smiling and loving is ultimately how I live my faith. I believe and I know that our Heavenly Father loves us. He loves us! He loves me, and he loves you. That joyful knowledge that I hold dear in my heart drives me to love others. How ever it is that they may need it, I will love a person or people like Christ would. I try my best, at least.
