Hi I'm Heather

I am an artist. I love to travel, restore, and create. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the sweetest man I know. I love sushi, traveling, cannolis, my family, swedish fish, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I left my marketing career to return to school and pursue my real passions, visual arts and family therapy. I love learning about new cultures and people. I love having the opportunity to experience new places in this wonderful world.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know that this truly the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. When I consider how many wonderful things there are in this life: the miracle of human life and all of its complexities, the beauty of simple things, the feeling of pure love for someone else, the service that I have received from others throughout my life, and everything that I have experienced in my life, I know that my Heavenly Father is aware of me and loves me. Even when things happen that are hard to deal with, I know that I can ask my Heavenly Father, and my Savior, Jesus Christ, to help carry the hardships with me and comfort me. They are always there to help me through. Many times, my prayers have been answered through the people around me. I know that people in our lives can be a special way God meets our needs. Sometimes, when I have sought answers to questions, or needed reminders that the Lord is aware of all of His children, I have found solace in reading the words written by previous prophets in the Book of Mormon. The testimonies in the Book of Mormon have helped to strengthen my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I think of my love for those who have been close to me and their lives have ended on Earth, I know that I will see them again. Our relationships are something from this life that we will be able to still have once we leave this life. Because of this knowledge, I also know that my Heavenly Father has given me the opportunity to be married to my husband after we both pass on, with a marriage sealed by His authority.

How I live my faith

I love the focus that this church has on service. As a church, we are constantly supported to visiting each other, taking meals to those who are not well, helping with menial tasks of housing up-keep that we know, and enjoying learning about each other's lives and experiences with the gospel. I have enjoyed participating in all of those activities as well as helping out to my local community with service projects. There are always ways to help someone around you.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Joseph Smith taught that we are, "to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all." I love that this church has donated time, money, and goods to helping out the world around us. That world involves everyone who is a part of it. Show more Show less
