Hi I'm Denise Viana

I'm Brazilian, a never-ending student, a dreamer, a traveller, an optimistic, a wife and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I 'm a never-ending student, a dreamer, a traveler, an optimist, and a wife. I’ve studied landscape architecture, hotel management, mathematics and oceanography. I sail, dive, and strive to fulfill my dreams. I love gardening, cooking, the ocean… and I'm a Mormon. Right now, we enjoy everything else that life has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

Evidently grown as catholic in Brazil, I searched answers to minimize the so many doubts I had in life. This helped me prepare, understand and embrace the truth when it’d hove in the way, as it did. Never will I forget the lovely missionaries, who had come a long way from abroad just to teach me, out of the blue, the very treasures, that till then I not even remembered existed, but had unconsciously kept as top secret dreams since ever. They’d brought them back to light: the peace of knowing, no matter what happens that you can eternally live with the ones you love - that death will not break your family apart. They taught me, but it was the Holy Ghost, who testified and sealed such truth in my heart, after following the counsel of prophet Moroni in chapter 10 of The Book of Mormon to ponder and pray about it. I’m a Mormon because I love my family and I want the best for me and for them. Being a Mormon is more than a lifestyle. Nothing else will bring your family closer than living the gospel of Jesus Christ. When Christ is our foundation we can hold everything else together. The simple answers to life are found in the principles of the gospel. I encourage anyone to learn more, even if it's just because you want more for your family.

How I live my faith

At church, I currently help teach children the gospel. I voluntarily prepare lessons for every Sunday to help them understand the scriptures through songs, stories and games, hoping they’ll apply it to their lives. In the neighborhood, I try to be a helping citizen living Christ’s principles through examples. Among friends and family, I live my faith by the choices I daily make. I know they are counting on me to live a good life and to be a good example. This will help them gain faith.
