Hi I'm Lucas

I grew up in the sweet state of Colorado. Work for my father in a construction company and hope to run it one day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 29 years old and I'm a newly wed. My beautiful wife and I have been married for two whole months. Just a few years ago I got back from my mission, which was two of the best years of my life. Now it's my wonderful marriage!! You can say that I was a late bloomer, since most memebers go when they're 19 years old. You can say that I was trying to figure out what my faith really was, and what it really ment to me. But, thankfully I found out what it really means and i've recived wonderful memories that I will never forget! Curently my job has landed me in the constuction business, which we all know is not doing so well right now, due to the economy. But, I'm very grateful to have a job. And even though I wonder if I'm still going to have a job next month, I keep a positive attitude and count my blessings for being able to put a roof over our heads, and food on the table. All and all, I think the best thing to say is... I'm happy, poor, and loving every minute of my life. It's great to get a second chance!!!!

Why I am a Mormon

You can say the reason behind my faith is, I asked the same questions everyone asks, why am I here? What is wrong with me? And how did I get to this point in my life? Just like everyone else I found myself lost and confussed about what was important to me. Not really knowing right from wrong, or what mattered the most to me. Untill one day I found myself praying asking Heavenly Father for help. I was afraid, I thought there was no way out. So I asked God to help me, I asked for a way out. I needed a new start and I knew the path I was on wasn't getting me anywhere. Not knowing what kind of answer I would get, my father came to me a little while later asking me if I was interested in a job. The only catch was it involed moving away and leaving everything that I had behind. He was in the process of expanding his company, and was enterested in starting a branch in the western slopes of Colorado. And of course I found myself asking, how can I possibly do that? I'm not qualified for that kind of job! And all of the sudden it hit me, and I heard myself saying, you wanted a way out didn't you? well... this is your chance! And right then and there, I knew that God was answering my prayer. He was working through my father to give me a second chance and I knew it! And no matter what we think, God is always willing to give us a second chance, if we're willing to ask for it. This is when I knew the power of forgiveness, and my faith in Jesus Christ changed my life forever. And I give thanks for that chance to truly start over.

How I live my faith

One of the things that I love the most about the Church of Jesus Christ, is that you always have an oportunity to strengthen your weaknesses. Let me explain, I'm not the best teacher in the world, but I have been given the oportunity to teach the adults in a gospel class. And as of right now, my wife and I have been called to teach the young children ages 4 to5. And I will be the first to say that this will be a challenge. But that's one of the greatest things about teaching, sometimes we teach ourselves. So instead of running away from my fears, I get to face them, and in the end it only makes me stronger. But I ask you isn't that faith? walking where you can't see, not knowing the beginning from the end. This, in my opinion, is how God helps us become the people that we can truly be. And through these experiences we not only help ourselves, but we learn to help others. We never know when someone is going to go through the same struggles that we, ourselves have gone through. And we can't deny that when we reach out to someone in a time of need, whether it's a service project cleaning a school, or helping someone paint their house, or being a friend in a time of need, we will all receive the blessing and the fillings of love that come with it. So to make a long story short, my faith is through my service. And I can only hope that I'm doing my part in helping others that have felt, or feel like I have.
