Hi I'm Nola

I'm a Mormon. I am a widow with 10 children, 27 grandchildren and 5 great granchildren and am very happy being a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a predominately Catholic community . I was blessed with several friends who were members and are still friends today. I love to sew, quilt, crochet and knit as well as do Family History. I have 8 living children whom I love very much and have always been a great comfort and love to me. They have blessed me with 30 wonderful granchildren. I love playing the piano and organ and used to preform with a singing group and we sang all over our valley. Music is important to me and I feel should be used by all families as a great teaching and learning tool.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon but there comes a time in your life when you need to know for a surety if what you have been taught is true. I was Young Women's president and realized that I needed to know for myself these truths. My husband was gone for the evening and my children were all asleep. It was only 8:30 in the evening. I had the whole evening to myself and decided to read in the Improvement Era, the older version of the Ensign. As I studied a great need to find the truth came upon me. Since my children were very good sleepers, and my husband would not be home before midnight I knew I would never find a better opportunity. Kneeling down and thinking about the proper order of prayer I began, asking forgiveness for all the things I remembered having done wrong. I also spent a time thanking my Heavenly Father for his many and glorious blessing that I had received. Eventually I could think of nothing more and pleaded with the Lord for a knowledge of the truth of the Book of. I knew that if it were true then all else i knew about the Church was as well. It was answered in a most marvelous way. I very warm feeling washed completely over me leaving me speechless and tears in my eyes. I knew it was true. I grow every day as I study the scriptures. The Gospel is all about gaining truth and knowledge and I will never learn it all while on this earth I pray for the strength to continue down this path.

How I live my faith

Scripture study is a great way for me to live my faith but I must practice in daily lif those truths that I learn. I have served as a pianist for a local groups of young singers and had the priviledge of showing them by example the great way to love one another. I try being a good neighbor and friend. I am curremntly teaching young children in Primary. I also had the priviledge of working in parent and teacher organizations several times and interacting with many who were not members of the Church. I have tried to live the Gospel in all my dealings with my fellow men and pray that I have not offended any. Today I am no longer filled with youth and vigor so I love to spend time reading and studying those teachings that are given to us during our General Conferences twice a year. I like to practice being kind to everyone for that is the right way.
