Hi I'm Ilene

I'm a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I'm a quiet person that is easy to get along with and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latyter-day Saint's. The only member in my immediate family when I joined. I'm a stay at home mother to 3 beautiful daughters. I'm married to my high school sweet heart for almost 12 years. I like to do crafts, cook, sew, scrapbook, and do family history research. I have an Associates of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering. I'm a Young Women's Leader, and love to spend time with the youth of our church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the teachings. I have attended other faiths, and none of them seemed complete. I attended for about a year studying the gospel, learning for myself, listening to lessons. Learning Who I am and why I'm here. Understanding Heavenly Father knows and loves ME personally. And even though I am not perfect, he cares enough for me to listen to and even answer MY prayers. I know he is real as this has continued throughout my life. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and Elder Brother. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me this and how he atoned for my sins. Through Him I can return back to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

“Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations” (Doctrine and Covenants 115:5). I live my faith by being an example. I am a daughter of God. I try my best to follow the teachings of the church. We have family scripture reading, and family prayer. I teach the young women in church from age 14-16. My heart rejoices as if they were my on daughters when I see them make good and righteous choice in their lives, because of what they are being taught by their family and leaders. I love preparing my own daughters how to make righteous decisions. I love to help be an example of good in the world and I stand up for what is right. I know that is the best way to share the gospel. I serve my fellow man as the savior would. I participate is service project in the community. I try my best to follow the savior in word and in deed, I am not perfect at it be no means, but I also know that I am here to learn. I can repent and be better everday.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

We believe that life continues on after mortality. Through the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we believe that after death our spirits will at some point rejoin our resurrected bodies. In this state of immortality, we believe that we can continue on as a family thru eternity. The knowledge that what I do each day can have eternal consequence makes loving and teaching my family important and rewarding. It brings us closer to each other. So not only do we need to learn to work, love, and help one another, by lift each other up during this lifetime, but for an eternity. Show more Show less
