Hi I'm Todd

I'm currently working as a stay at home dad with interests in photography and design I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Todd E. McDonald. I January of 2013 I suffered a stroke, but gratefully thanks to the blessings of a loving Heavenly Father and the blessing of the priesthood I am almost fully recovered and not suffering from any long term effects. Currently I am the stay at home parent of two adorable children. My work life has mostly been centered around the printing business everything from Graphic Design to creating materials for the press from digital files. My free time enjoyments include reading, camping, fly fishing, sports and yes video games. The key is to finding the balance between all that is good.

Why I am a Mormon

Former president of the church of Jesus Christ and prophet Gordon B. Hinckley once spoke on the nickname of the church mormon meaning "more good". That is one thing I see in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is more good. The amount of volunteer time and efforts and monetary items that are donated is incredible, it leads me to believe members truly are trying to be like Jesus! Yet there is much more to it than that, I remember vividly the day the Holy Ghost bore witness to me that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ did in fact visit Joseph Smith, spoke to Joseph and began the process of the restitution of all things as spoken of in the book of Acts Chapter 3. Throughout my life I have had these witnesses, sometimes it is hard and difficult in following the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ but the eternal rewards far out weigh the challenges! I am thankful for the comforting assurance that Christ has restored His church, that Christ has called a prophet and apostles for our day, just as He did in His day when He ministered upon the earth! Also, that Jesus Christ has called and given me a portion of His priesthood power, to act in His name as I stand as a witness of Christ in all places, all times and in all things! Without this knowledge, I am not certain where my life would be! I do know that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is indeed Christ's one true and living church and I invite all to sincerely investigate and find this out for them self!

How I live my faith

President Thomas S. Monson has said "As bearers of the priesthood, we have been placed on earth in troubled times. We live in a complex world with currents of conflict everywhere to be found. Political machinations ruin the stability of nations, despots grasp for power, and segments of society seem forever downtrodden, deprived of opportunity, and left with a feeling of failure." While this is true, there is peace in knowing our Savior Jesus Christ. Living my faith means leading my family in daily family and personal prayer. Daily family and personal scripture study. to grow close to Jesus Christ. Weekly family home evenings are a must to combat the troubles of the world. Yet above it all is to "love my neighbor" there is nothing more joyful or satisfying than to help someone in need. Acts of kindness bring more into this world and draw the Lord's spirit than any thing else that you can do!
