Hi I'm Nate

I'm a sophomore at Utah State, dance parties are my favorite, i love to roller disco, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello I'm a twenty year old, and im in my sophomore year of college. I love to play basketball, tennis, or any sport. I love to roller disco, and go to dance parties, and just have a good time. My favorite thing to do is go camping in the mountains, and fishing in the lakes. I love the outdoors, and some day i hope to go bungee jumping.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the church for the truths that i have learned. I love learning, and the church encourages you to read as much as you can. I have read through the Bible, and Book of Mormon and i see the way things line up. I've had so many questions answered, and i have a purpose here on earth. Most importantly i have found through my experience that Jesus Christ is my savior, and that god communicates and love's each of us personally. I feel a closeness to god as i follow the teachings. And i have a strong testimony of the divinity of the book of Mormon, it has and will forever change my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved in the missionary end of things, i try and live my life every day the way Christ would want us to live. I try my best to talk to those people who i come in contact with about the church and tell them of the most amazing blessings that i have felt through being a member of Christs church. One of my favorite things to help out with in the church is produce to people, were people who are struggling to make a living can come and get free food for there families, it's always a good feeling to help others in need. And finally i try and be personally worthy by reading my scriptures and praying every day. Life can become a little crazy at time's, but i hope to get better each day to become like my savior Jesus Christ.

No. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I feel like the church grows so much because of the truth that it brings to the world. So many of my questions have been answered by the book of mormon, and modern day prophets. I do find it interesting that in the book of Daniel it prophecies that in the last day the church will grow until it has covered the entire earth, and we can see that today with the latter day saint church. Members are all over the world, and the church continues to grow each year. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

I believe that i have many purpose's in this life, but the most important purpose i see is to obey the commandments that my heavenly father has given me, and prepare to meet him once again. I feel like i gain a lot of experience while I'm on this earth, i learn from both the bad, and good choices that i make. I am thankful that i was given this opportunity to be here on earth and experience all the things that life has to offer. But most importantly to turn to god, and obey his will. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I believe with my full heart that the bible is the word of god. I love the bible, and i read from it every day, there are passages in the bible that give insight on things that no other book has given. I feel the same way with The Book of Mormon, they have both influenced me, and molded me into the person that i am today. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

I believe that grace is the only way that we can get back to heaven, if there is no grace, there is no way that i will ever be able to work my way to heaven. But thankfully Jesus has suffered for my sins, and if i have faith in him, repent of my sins, get baptized, and endure to the end, then i am going to be strengthened through the grace of Christ, and he's going to allow to have salvation. Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

We believe in serving one another, when we serve one another we become closer together making the congregation like family. I also think that when we serve for the love of god, it brings us closer to what our savior would want us to be, it helps us to be more Christ-like which is one of the goals of our church. What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

For me the mormon lifestyle is great, some things that i have experienced is that mormons tend to be really happy, also the mormon lifestyle is a very clean lifestyle. Church is a pretty big part of each day, from reading scriptures at night with my family, to having people from our church come over and teach us lessons from the scriptures. I guess you could say that we are involved in the church seven days a week. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith to me, is a belief in something that you can't see, but you feel and believe that it is true. It is also an action word to me. If we have faith in something, then we do something about it. For example, because i have faith in Jesus Christ, i try and repent of my sins, and become more like him. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

It is not required to serve, but there is a joy that comes from serving. That is what has motivated me to serve a mission. Missionary work is the life blood of the church, millions of people have been converted to the good news of Jesus Christ, because of the missionary effort. Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

We believe that Jesus Christ set up a church when he was here on the earth, Jesus Christ was crucified and taken off of the earth, and his apostles that he set up to govern the church died or were killed off. You can imagine this is like a basketball game and the refs were taken away. I play a lot of street ball, and i know that when there are no refs the rules change, and the play becomes rough. So it is with the church, without the apostles, doctrines changed. There was a need for there to be a leading body of the church again, called a restoration, or bringing back something that was once here. That same organization exists today. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Baptism symbolizes the start of a new life in Jesus Christ. Paul declares it very well in Ephesians 2 when he talks about the people who were recently baptized saying ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God. In the church we follow Jesus Christ, and baptism is the way that we show we will follow Him. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The temple is a beautiful place of learning. It is literally the house of God here on the earth, and we know this because of the spirit that we feel in them. Anyone who is worthy to enter the temple may do so, we do not want to have His house unclean. In the temple we learn of our relationship with God, i have learned many truths through the spirit. We perform ordinances such as sealing a family together for time and all eternity. Show more Show less
