Hi I'm Austin

I'm a husband to an Angel! A go getter, Sports fanatic, love the outdoors, lifting weights, and most importantly being with family

About Me

I love to smile and I love life! I love my family! They are the best! I am a son of God, a servant of Jesus Christ as a missionary, an artist, a drummer, outdoors man, a brother, an uncle, a true and honest friend, and I love to be out under the stars, sitting by a fire on the beach..I love the power of virtue.I am very competitive in EVERYTHING I do. I strive to do my best it every aspect of my life. I avoid discouragement, doubt, infact the word "Can't" is not in my vocabulary. "For with God nothing shall be impossible" -Luke 1:37. I'm into just about everything thats fun, true, or virtuous, including surfing, cliff jumping, running, or anything that lets me run or catch/shoot a ball! I'm always down for a good rush of adrenaline..I love to do new things! I LIVE THE DREAM EVERYDAY! I enjoy various types of Hip-Hop dancing as a way to express myself and have a blast! I'm a total clown on the dance floor.. I love to battle it out, jerk, pop, dougie, you name it I can do it..I just like to dance to have fun! My favorite things to do is to make people smile and enjoy life, rather than "endure" life, for even a moment's laugh. I'm crazy about fitness and lifting weights!! I love Sports! Football, Basketball, and beach volleyball.. I'm currently serving my Father in Heaven in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission! (the GKLM!) I love every second! Upon my return I will attend BYUI & work towards higher levels of understanding, and multiple degrees of knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many reasons. I know the Priesthood authority has been restored to the earth by angelic messengers to the Prophet of the time, Joseph Smith Jr. I know this because I have read the Book of Mormon several times and pondered and asked the Father in the name of Jesus Christ if its true. The feeling I get every time I read it is very sacred and powerful. As I read I am filled with the Love of God, and it fills my soul with the Holy Spirit. It teaches me of the Savior's visit to the ancient inhabitants of the Americas as spoken of in John 10:16, referring to his "other sheep". The Book of Mormon and the Bible have the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together they prove that God does inspire men "yesterday, today, and forever". They teach us how we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. When I was baptized a calm reverence filled my soul. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I am a Son of God, that he loves me, and that as I honored the Covenant that I had made to follow Jesus, that I would enjoy life's richest blessings. When I was 14 years old I read in the Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 3:24. As I read this the spirit of God filled soul. I felt so strongly that Joseph Smith truly was a Prophet of God called and foreordained from the beginning, as was Jeremiah and all the Prophets since the world began. (Jeremiah 1:5) It was this scripture that I also felt was an invitation from the Lord to "rise up" and to "do much good, both in word and in deed". I knew from that moment and as a Priesthood holder that it was my sacred duty to share the Gospel and help all come to Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading from the scriptures everyday. As well as counseling with the Lord in all I do through prayer. (Alma37:36-37) I have always found happiness through serving others. My ultimate example in service is Jesus. I love to put a smile on someones face and be a good example. Right now I get to represent the Church full time and I have never felt such Joy in my life. I live my faith by sharing my testimony with all who wish to hear it. I made a promise to God that I would testify of the truthfulness of the Gospel at every opportunity given me. Throughout my life as I have stayed faithful to that promise I have felt a sincere closeness with my Father in Heaven and his Son Jesus Christ. I am a true seeker of joy, and peace, and I find over and over again as I listen to, and apply the teachings of the apostles and prophets. Both those in the primitive days, and they that have are called in these modern days. I'm a warrior for peace, even the Gospel of peace taught by will of the Father through Jesus Christ his son. I always strive to have the sacred trust of my Heavenly Father, and those around me by living the gospel the best I can. I'm not perfect, but I know through Christ I can get closer than I could on my own. I live, love, and lift others to look higher than the ground upon which they stand, to the view of the high heavens..My God is my everything.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Austin
You can know this is true the same way you found the shoes on your feet to fit you. You tried them on, walked around in them, and they felt right. You see, you can find out the truth of these things as you experience them for yourself in a similiar way. Not only will you begin to feel for yourself that this is true but you have the opportunity to ask your Heavenly Father himself if it's true! What a wonderful invitation to not only "try on" the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but to live it fully, (completely lace up the shoe) and then ask God the Eternal Father in the name of Christ if this Church is true. We are promised Repeatedly throughout The Bible and Book of Mormon that he will reveal unto every soul that asketh, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, thus making it Truth. The way in which you will know of a surety as I know, is by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is that which enlightens our minds with answers to prayer or gospel questions, or speaks peace, love, or joy to our soul. Some describe the Feelings of the Holy Spirit as a warmth or comforter. No matter the way in which the Spirit speaks to you, you will know and recognize it as an answer from God, because it will lead you to do only good and take away any desire to do evil.
