Hi I'm Travis

I'm 23, Grew up in Utah. love life, the outdoors, friends, and dinosaurs, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 23. I'm studying to be an aerospace engineer at Utah Valley University In Utah. I'm fluent in English and Tagalog. I love target shooting, skiing, ice skating, four wheeling, hanging out with friends, and looking at stars. I've worked as a delivery boy, sales representative, and appliance repair man for a furniture/appliance company. I think dinosaurs are awesome. I love life and love being a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's true, and it makes sense. There is a lot of confusion in the world currently, but one thing stays the same: our god loves us and wants what is best for us. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of god, and so is Thomas S. Monson. This Church has the Lord's Priesthood (or the power to act in god's name) and i am privileged to have access to that in my personal life. More important, God told me through my prayers that this is the church that he has set up in order for us to be happy, safe, and in the end saved.

How I live my faith

I am in charge of the instructors of Sunday School, as such I help teach members every Sunday. We are learning about the Old Testament this year. I have to consistently study and treasure up the words God has given us in order to understand them, and be able to teach the doctrines of the gospel to my brothers and sisters that attend my classes.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

God has commanded that we remain pure in thought and deed. Chastity applies to both, in his teachings Christ indicated that our thoughts contribute to us sinning just as much as our actions. We need to be chaste (having sexual relations only in legal marriage) and part of that is dressing modestly. We act how we dress, because how we dress directs our thoughts. As we dress modestly we help ourselves to bridle our passions. Show more Show less
