Hi I'm Felice

I'm a Mormon. I am a Vietnam Era Veteran. I was in the Navy. I am active in the American Legion and Vietname Veterans of America.

About Me

I was born and raised in Iowa and left to join the Navy in 1972. I have lived from coast to coast from San Mateo, CA to Renton, WA and to South Carolina where I have been for about thirty years.   I am the mother of a 21 year old son and a 19 year old daughter. Both are in college currently. I earned my BA from Brigham Young University and my MLIS from the University of South Carolina. I am the librarian at a middle school in the county. I am an avid genealogist! I volunteer at the local family history center one night a week. I am also active in the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America. I am on the post's honor guard and feel blessed to be able to continue to serve. I love opera and I love to travel as well!

Why I am a Mormon

My mother became interested in the Church when I was 8 going on 9 years of age. I joined the Church in 1963 and have been a faithful member since then. The Church has always been a strength and a guide for me in my life. When I joined the Navy I was worried about being able to attend church during bootcamp. As it turned out, church attendance was manditory then! We were allowed to bring two books with us; I brought my Bible and Triple Combination (Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants and Pearl of Great Price). I continue to be a Mormon after all these years because of the comfort and strength the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings to me in my life. I know why I am here on the earth, where I was before I came and what will happen to my spirit afterwards. I know families are forever! And I know of the divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ! I cannot image my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

During the course of my 48 years in the Church, I have been involved in Cub Scouts, serving as a den leader and a cub master. I have taught children from nursery age (18 months - 3 years) up to the 10 and ll year olds. I have also taught the adult Sunday School class at various times in my life. I have worked in family history centers in the San Francisco Bay area, Provo, UT, Reading, PA, Greenville, SC and Spartanburg, SC. I also sing in the choir at church! As I previously mentioned I am involved in various veteran's groups. I have to laugh because I am often asked how it is that I was in the Navy and don't drink coffee. I get to explain the Church's health code known as the Word of Wisdom.
